I’m almost 50 years old and can’t boil a “peelable” egg. What’s your method for hard boiling eggs?

Don't use fresh eggs. That helps.
I always put the egg in cold water.
Bring to boil and let it boil for around 30-60 seconds.
Turn off fire.
Put lid on for 10 minutes.
Drop them in ice water and peel them under running water.
Works for me.

Put eggs in pot of cool water that just covers the, bring to a boil and as soon as boil starts turn off heat and cover. 13 minutes for a hard boiled 6 minutes for a soft boiled. Times for soft boiled can vary a bit by size of egg and personal preference. Run cold water immediately after or put in ice bath.
To peel crack and run under low running faucet to help get under membrane.
If you need them to be perfect add a couple extra eggs for insurance purposes.
This will guarantee no green around yolk.

Instant Pot
Add as many eggs as you want. 1 cup of water. Bring to pressure and cook for 5 minutes. Turn off heat, but keep pressure for 5 minutes. Release pressure. Ice bath.
Best and easiest boiled eggs ever.

Instant Pot makes easily peelable eggs. Put the trivet in with a cup of H2O. Put in eggs. Set for about 6 minutes of pressure, and let them stay another 6 after it goes off. Release remaining pressure and put eggs in ice water.
They peel easier than any other method I have tried. Now and then one will pop, but it’s often still usable.
Many promote a 5/5/5 approach on the timing. I like mine well done so go with 6 or even 7.

Why not?

Putting the eggs into boiling water will make peeling much easier.
Many people will recommend putting the eggs into cold water then boiling. While this makes a good egg, it's not as easy to peel

I boil eggs the same time every time and sometimes it peels super easy and sometimes it is a pain. I dont think the method is the problem.
I put eggs in water, turn on heat, when it comes to a boil let it go for 5-7 minutes depending on size and if I want it a little runny. Then cool off in an ice bath. In general everything is just fine but every once in a while the egg is an a-hole.

My preferred method to a t. I’ve never tried it, but when my mom needed to boil eggs but only had fresh in the fridge she would take a little metal pick (similar to the pointy end of a nail) and puncture a very small hole in the shell on the side of the egg that had the air pocket. No egg leaks out, but it separates the egg from the shell within as it cooks and then the peel comes right off

Fresh eggs will stick to the shell. Every carton of eggs is dated on the end. Look for older eggs and you will have better peeling success, no matter what boiling method you use.

Put a pot on with a steam basket. Once it’s steaming, put your eggs in for 14 minutes. Once the 14 minutes has passed remove the eggs and immediately drop the eggs into ice water.
They will peel easy, the yolk will be just cooked (no discoloration), and the time doesn’t change no matter how many eggs you’re cooking. Soft boiled I believe is 9 minutes, but I could be off on that as it’s been a long time since I did soft boiled.

Exactly how I do it. Instant Pot is king for perfect eggs

Has anyone tried Sous vide for eggs?

Walk up to the deli case at Rouses and buy 6 eggs peeled for $2.

167 degrees for 14 or 15 minutes, followed by a quick dunk in cold water to stop the cooking, produces a poached egg that will come out of the shell beautifully.
Have not cooked them further for hard boiled.
