I don’t trust people who don’t suck shrimp heads. They’re delicious.

NOLA style bbq shrimp I have heard this, but I've never seen anyone suck a boiled shrimp head.

First time I had spiders I was blown away at how good they are, but it's best to use the larger heads to do this in my opinion.

As for sucking boiled shrimp heads, I've done it many times and it is damn tasty, especially when the shrimp have some fat in them.

The photo is a bit unappetizing with all the scrawny legs.

I get the sweet shrimp at sushi restaurants and that comes with fried heads…can be a chore to get down. They pop the carapace so it basically makes a spider.

It's hard to read the room. So is this a thing or is it not a thing?

You’re just sucking out the fat and boil water…unless you’re really going at it.

You deep frying those shrimp heads? Toss them in some buttermilk, roll in some seasoned flour and rock on? Boil, then fry, or fry them fresh?

I’ve never seen anybody do this. I’ve always either left them on and sucked a few or just processed them beforehand and used the heads to make a stock to have in the freezer.

Me neither, but that pic looked good! I would try it and probably like it.

Yes, they are deep fried and it's pretty much a flash fry since they don't take long to cook. I only do this with the larger shrimp heads-----larger than 21-25's for the most part.

I pop the heavy head shell off then just use what's left. I don't use any liquid dredge when I do mine since they are pretty moist on their own. As for the coating, I use corn flour that I season with Slap Ya Mama, black pepper and a bit of garlic powder.

I drop them in 350 degree oil and don't fry them longer than about 30 seconds, remove them from the oil and put on a wire cooling rack to drain.

They are crispy and delicious fixed that way. Other opinions may vary.

Some folks like to use a tempura type batter and that is good too, but I prefer mine with corn flour. You can do some both ways to see which suits your taste better.
