Looks like TLC is coming hard after Tito's.

TLC DOES NOT TASTE LIKE CHICKEN fwiw....butit's pretty damn good.

The kicker is the price point.

Both vodka's are made in Texas..here's a rundown

I can get a handle of Taste Like Chicken at Total Wine and Elio's for $19.00 and a fifth for $14.99...get the handle is a no brainier

A handle of Tito's goes as low as $29.99 at Rouses, $29.99 Total Wine and $32.99 at Elio's.

Tito's is very proud of their Vodka...it will be interesting to see how they handle this....(pun intended)

I have a feeling there's a backstory here between the 2 being that Tito is originally from San Antonio....

Does anyone know?

TLC Vodka

quote:

Winner, winner
Chicken dinner!
TLC is 100% corn fed and slow-cooked in a copper pot still to ensure you get the smoothest, cleanest, best tasting Vodka you've ever had... But then again, Vodka is Vodka and everything Tastes Like Chicken!

quote:

Why is the price so cheap? Because we aren't greedy!

Affordable, easy to mix and doesn't taste like chicken. What more could you ask for?

Tito's

quote:

Tito’s Handmade Vodka is America’s Original Craft Vodka. In 1995, Bert “Tito” Beveridge obtained the first legal permit to distill in Texas and created Tito’s Handmade Vodka. We batch distill our corn-based vodka using old-fashioned pot stills and the vodka is naturally Gluten-Free. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is distilled and bottled by Fifth Generation Inc. in Austin, Texas on the very same land where the whole venture started.

How do they compare taste / quality-wise? Are they pretty similar?

Yes...very similar....Honestly I like TLC better but I've only really tasted it once.

I'm going to give it a shot

In the world of alcohol, Titos is a monster. It will be very hard to do much to that brand. The big buys have been trying for years now and can't crack the code

I used to be a Tito's drinker, but then they started raising prices too much 3 or 4 years ago.
Plenty of stuff out there that is much cheaper and taste just as good.

No shite..thats a killer deal...and I've been gladly paying for the past 10-15 years and will continue to.....

However TLC is $20 for a handle and it pretty much taste the same

I'm just curious if there is some sort of backstory beef between the 2.

I’m confused, is there something you know that we don’t?

If the only similarities are that they are two vodka brands based out of TX, I would say there’s very little chance this is about a beef. Tito’s is a multi-billion dollar brand that several other companies try to take a slice away from (deep eddys, dripping springs, etc.).

Tito’s has reached call brand level internationally. I doubt a start up is going to impact that much.

However, if it’s good vodka for that price I’ll try it. The name needs to change though.
