What stores do y’all find have the best prices?
Walmart
Albertsons
Winn-Dixie
Rouses
Trader Joe’s
Sam’s
Costco
I shop at Rouses the majority of the time but find that there prices are much higher. I do like TJs for their speciality item things.

it fluctuates with all of them, for the most part.
It's not like one store sells chicken breasts at one price and it never changes, except wal-mart.
I find chicken the cheapest at Alexanders. Rouses is where i can find cheap pork. Beef is hit or miss for me at Rouses and Alexanders, as far as steak goes. Rouses will occasionally have ground beef for $2-3/lb, but i haven't bought ground meat in a year and a half after killing an elk. Sprouts has the cheapest veggies and fruit. I catch my own fish, and i buy my shrimp by the ice chest down the bayou. Dairy is cheapest at Rouses for me.
i'm not walking into a walmart, winn dixie or albertson's, and i don't pay a company to shop at their store that's full of fat arse trash. If i need non fresh food (plates, paper towels, ziploc bags, canned goods, snacks etc) then that's what Amazon is for.

No one store has the best price on every item. I go to several stores and just buy the good sale items. Loss leaders are heavily discounted and designed to lure you in to the store with the rest of your list. Buying just the loss leaders is a good way to save.

For whatever reason, I find shopping special sales to be really fun so I do a lot of that. Fresh Market does $2.99 chicken breasts and $3.99 chuck on Tuesdays, for example.
But Fresh Market will rape you on anything not on special. I do Sprouts for that stuff. It’s much cheaper.
Walmart is the cheapest, with Albertsons not being too far behind, but I can’t stand going into either one. Only time I’ll do them is if I’m hosting a large party where I need tons of ingredients, and I get it delivered to my house.
If Trader Joe’s did delivery, I would be all over that every so often when I want to stock up on novelties. But that’s another place I can’t handle going into.
I don’t find Rouses too expensive that I’ve noticed.

If you're shopping for price generally, Costco and Sam's for meat, and Fresh Pickings or farmer market for produce. Sign up for mailers and look for sales at Piggly Wiggly/Winn Dixie/Albertson/wherever. You'll have to figure out what you can cook with 10 lbs onion or chicken parts for ~$5, I enjoy that part.

Typically I buy all my produce at Southside or the Farmer's Market and shop sales for meat between Rouses and Albertsons. For day to day stuff, I go to Calvin's.

Usually depends on what you're buying. Bulk stuff is priced pretty good at Costco, Sam's, Walmart.
I've found some meat prices at Rouses very competitive with other stores when they put chicken leg quarters on sale for $.59 a lb., split breast for $.99 a lb. and the same for pork butts.
I pretty much shop between 3 stores with Costco being the one I spend the most at, followed by Rouses, then Winn-Dixie.
My wife goes to Walmart from time to time, but I haven't been in years.

It will vary by week based upon the weekly sales

In Hammond we have:
Albertson's
Winn Dixie
Wal-Mart
Rouse's
I mostly shop at WD due to familiarity of where everything is and we use the WD card for discounts. I like to get in and get out.
Wal-Mart is a shithole full of trashy people that have all day to go absolutely nowhere and bad meat
Albertson's is pretty much a liquor store that sells a few grocery items.
I'll go to Rouse's if Im picking something up for 1 meal. They usually have pretty decent meat prices and the deli selection is pretty good.

Very similar here...
Produce: Southside
Meat: Meat Market/Seafood market
Groceries: Sprouts, Rouses depending on what side of Lee I am on.
Day to Day ingredients: Bet-R
I don't mind stopping into the market daily and grabbing fresh ingredients for dinner. Will usually improvise with what's available and on sale.

I use FLIPP every Wednesday to analyze what is on sale and then decide what to get to prepare

Congrats on throwing away your money to make a pretentious post about being too good to step into a walmart

hmmm. I guess I am what you consider trash. But that is alright.
I do frequent Albertsons, Winn-Dixie, Rouses, Carters and others from time to time. So if you see me in one of those I don't mind being in the same building as an elitist $ss wipe like yourself but I would prefer you not try and strike up a conversation with me. Deal?!?

The stores with Spanish names for the win.

Deal. And I’m sure you’re not the person I’m trying to avoid. You know exactly what I’m talking about. I simply choose to not go places like that, and I honestly don’t feel like I’m paying more by shopping at several other stores and only buying things on sale.
And no one that knows me would ever consider me an elitist by the way. I just don’t like people.
It’s no different than why people go to Chik fil a instead of Popeyes. Customer service and the atmosphere of the establishment matters to some people, and they are willing to pay slightly more for that.

I appreciate that.

I am going to accept this as true. And I am going to apologies for my earlier comment. He$$ I don’t really like crowds anymore myself. My days of hitting Bacchus or Endymion are long gone.

An I do understand this also. I can tell when I go into any store that some of the patrons and I would not be friends. But they dont bother me by being in the same place.
I don't know, your comment just rubbed me the wrong way. I see a lot of posts from people talking about the poors, Walmart shoppers, fatties etc. Just seems condescending and not productive.
Your Pal,
C.J.
