I’ve always used Camellia brand, either way.

I use Navy beans and cook them just like I do my red beans. Both are delicious and Camellias Website has a good article on the different type of white beans. Lot’s of good information and recipes on that website

Great Northern with ham or pickle meat and the usual onion, bell pepper, celery, garlic plus wet and dry seasonings to spike it up a few notches.

I like 'em both and go back and forth but if I had to choose I'm taking the smaller ones. I think those are the navy beans.

Guess I'm the only one that normally uses baby Lima beans for white beans.

This took me down a rabbit hole comparing/contrasting cannelloni, great northern, and navy beans. Other than size and maybe shell thickness, I can’t imagine them tasting much differently than each other.

I usually go for great northern, so I’m going to try one of the others next time we get a cold snap.

I’ve made both Northern and Navy and all I can say is they’re both delicious, especially cooked with a good ham bone.

I’ve only ever had canned cannellini beans, and since I used them in dishes very different from the way I’ve had the others I can’t really compare.

My wife prefers the navy beans so I use that. Apparenty the size of beans makes them taste different to her.
