Lafayette courses

Was able to get to play both The Wetlands and The Farm recently. Thought both courses were in really good shape. Liked the overall layout of The Farm, but the grass in the fairways at The Wetlands really stands the ball up.

If you can't play OCC or LT, those 2 are your best bet. The Wetlands is a great public course and it's always in good shape. The Farm is a good course too, they have issues with fungus attacking their greens from time to time, but when it's in good shape it's a great course.
If OCC is having a tournament I'm not playing in, I usually play Farm because it's easier to get a tee time/less crowded, but you can't go wrong with either.

Lafayette does have some decent courses. Sometimes we will take the ride out to Patterson and play the Atchafalaya Club though. Thats worth the hour or so trip in my opinion.

Another great option now is Cane Row in new Iberia. Formerly Squirrel Run.

Typically really good during the spring when we get rain. It gets a little baked out during the summer.

Irrigation in the fairways are complete....they should be plush year round! The course is perfect right now!

Any date set for the Jimmy P yet?

I like Cane Row.. fun layout. I got invited to play it in November by a buddy and something strange happened on #7 my 2nd shot into the sun..I knew it wasn't a bad shot but we couldn't find it in fairway...one of our playing partners found it...it had fallen into a sizeable crack in fairway....I guess the drought and heat took its toll on the landfill subsoil ....I would think that the rain's have really done the course some good...BTW they did have great greens that day. I would think that more rain predicted and sprinkler system fixed its going a be really nice soon.
