Best free workout app for the gym?

I have been swimming but now I want to start lifting. I know how to lift I just need something that will generate a routine for me. If not I just go in there and randomly jump from exercise to exercise based off what I feel like doing.

Literally right above you is a post on 5/3/1 with the books linked. Liftvault has free spreadsheets for it and also GSLP, I like them because I’m old and can program them as I see fit. There is a long thread on it (GS) as well. Don’t know about apps but be patient you’ll get an answer.

I use Jefit and make my own routine. You can also find tons of other people's routines and shite.
I've also used Strong and liked it but always seem to go back to Jefit.

there is a greyskull app atleast on android and you can build your own template. I know Jetfit has some good routines listed, including greyskull.
if you are just starting stronglifts has an awesome app(greyskull is a better routine, but app sucks comparitevely)
the bet app i have seen is the ultimate531 app as far as templates and tracking.
If willing to learn the best place is to look on this board for the greyskull thread, find the template that looks right for you and start following it using a notebook or spreadsheet.

I like the app "Strong".

I use the "Strong" app as well, but its just for logging lifts. I don't pay for the subscription, but I believe the paid one does have routines available.

Fitbod is the one i use. It isn't free but it's $60 for an entire year - which for what it does is dirt cheap.
It generates great workout routines based on recovery state of your muscle groups but you can also say I want to do X workout (e.g. bench) and it will do that and add in other stuff to complete the workout.
It tracks your projected 1RM, max weight lifted and max # of repetitions.
Also throws in several "MAX EFFORT" days to AMRAP your final couple of sets.
Syncs with Strava if you use that for running.
Ask me anything - i've been using it since December and love it.
Oh also you can customize the available equipment and save that location. So if you're at a hotel gym or work out in multiple places you can save that location or tell the app what you have available and it will give you a workout based on what you have.
