Not me, but you can definitely get shorter racks for that. Common issues will be pull/chin ups and overhead presses.

Been meaning to start a thread in this realm. Looks like my garage height is a little over 8ft tall. If anyone has any recs on best squat racks for a garage gym I’m all ears. I was assuming Rogue was the way to go and looking at their HR-2 rack. Was also planning to get my barbell from them. I assumed those two things are not what you want to skimp on.

Based on another thread I saw Nuobells may be the DBs I go with. Still need to find plates and a bench

I've got a Bolt rack and my ceiling is 9'. The garage door tracks are still an issue you have to consider. My rack is on the side wall, and I had to move it further toward the back wall than I planned in order to account for the door. If in the Houston area, I recommend looking at them. Good prices, decent quality, no shipping if you can pick up locally. And that will save $100's.

After procrastinating for over a year on getting a rack and also suffering from “paralysis by analysis”. I decided on the Rogue SML-1 with spotter arms. I have to say I love it, small moveable footprint yet still super stout. I didn’t need a chin bar bc i already had one mounted on my wall. Its only 70” high so its good anywhere.

My basement has 7’ ceilings and I has the same rack. Do all my OHP seated

For 8’ ceilings I would say rep, rogue, getrxd or bolt prolly the way to go. They all have 80”, all things considered I would go rep pr5000 if I had to choose. If it was a small garage i would go half rack from rep. If I didn’t live in Houston I would get rep bench, if I lived in Houston, I would get bolt and getrxd bench

they are both in the houston area and can be picked up locally to save hundreds on shipping. as is troy barbell. getrxd FIBAB is one of the best on the market. LINK

both getrxd and bolt have 3x3 1" that you can pick up that have different heights that work and plenty of attachments and other company attachments also work on them. both are laser cut with numbers.

I have 15 foot ceilings in my garage so not too stressed for height.

My last place wasn't an issue but my new house the previous owner put an attic in the garage so my rack won't fit. I currently have it in the drive way just in front of the garage. Its just a simple squat stand with a pull up bar. Keep the rest of the kit in the garage. Do my workouts in the drive and then put it all but the rack back. Want to pour a slab behind the garage when I get the time.

I've got 8 foot ceilings and ordered a rogue r3 short rack. It fits perfectly and I have enough room to get my head over the bars on pull ups.
