Has anyone beaten the dead hang challenge at the carnival with the thick rotating bar?

I was at a renaissance fair today and passed by a challenge that said you won $100 if you can deadhang for 1:40.
I tried it. Turns out the bar rotated so as soon as I shifted my grip it rotated me off.
I can dead hang for a couple minutes with no issue, mostly due to my smaller size. Do you have any tips to conquer this thick rotating bar? I assume it’s all about the grip positioning?

I got nothing for dead hanging at the carnival though

I didn't try it when I last saw it. I don't think I could manage 100 seconds

split grip and also practice using a thick grip. just buy the foam attachments.

A lot of the ones you see at fairs and stuff are able to rotate the last few seconds. It’s a scam
