Have a pea-sized lump on my left testicle and I’m terrified

What are the chances I might have testicular cancer? I’ve got an appt with a GP next week to talk about this. Is it all in my head? Am I overthinking too much? I’m hoping it’s just a benign cyst but I don’t know
Has anyone on here dealt with this? I’ve read that testicular lumps are common among males

How old are you? Could be nothing but you made the right call getting an appt.
There will be some blood work to look for markers and an ultrasound.

Testicular cancer is more common in the 3rd decade. I would wait till you see the doctor and some tests are ran before panicking.
Easier said than done I know.

So testicular lumps are really common right?

Dunno, but I have one too. Went and had it examined. Can't remember what the Urologist called it. Anyway, it's just there and doesn't hurt or anything. Dude told me if it got any bigger to go see him again. So..... it could be nothing?

It’s probably nothing, but my hypochondriac arse thinks the worst case scenario and that it’s a malignant tumor. I don’t know why but I’ve had this mentality for a long time

Nope. Still have full use of the family jewels

Reason I asked is if you were snipped, could have been epiditimitis. (Sp)

My hope is that it’s just an epididymal cyst. The lump is right on top of the epididymis

How long have you had the lump?

Yeah, mine was cancer. Ask to follow up with a urologist and get an ultrasound. My GP told me it was a cyst and nothing to worry about. The urologist had me in surgery hours after my ultrasound and saved my life.

At the least maybe you'll get your nuts fondled by a hot nurse

That’s straight nightmare fuel. Sorry about that man. What side of the testicle was the lump located on? How long did you have it?

I don’t remember what side of the testicle it was on, but it was my right. I had it nine years ago. I found it extremely quickly. My cousin had stage three, and my wife’s cousin died of it, because he ignored the symptoms.
I had carcinoma. My urologist, said that in 30 years of practice, he had never had stage 1 carcinoma. If I had not found it, or ignored it, I would more than likely be toast.
No matter, what the GP says, demand to get an ultrasound and see urologist as fast as possible. GOs are great, but they most certainly don’t specialize in cancer much less testicular cancer.

Sounds super rare, but yeah it’s better to be safe than sorry

Honestly, I’d rather the GP just order the ultrasound at a medical imaging clinic instead of having to drive 30 minutes to see a urologist. A lot of imaging clinics have their own radiologists who diagnose as soon as the results are given to them, and then report the results back to your GP

I had one, and left ball was soft. Turned out to be varicosile. Had surgery to fix but was prolly cause of me not producing much sperm after second kid and why I had to go on the fertility treatment that all eventually led me to get at 33.
Make sure you get the ultrasound!!

I sure hope my GP will consider an ultrasound. If he doesn’t I’m gonna have to find a different doctor
