Why are push-ups with the Perfect Push-up device so much harder than regular push-ups?

I’m an absolute sucker for gadgets and equipment and shite. I am everything Tyler Durden said was wrong with the world.
Now that is out of the way, why are push-ups using the perfect push-up seemingly so much more difficult than regular push-ups? Is it because it’s raised and results in a longer/deeper range of motion? Does the rotation have something to do with it?

its both
the raised handles allow a deeper range
if you do them correctly and supinate all the way until palms face forward at the end you are squeezing the pecs at the top.
same reason RTO on the rings for pushups and dips burns in the chest so much.

as someone with bad rotator cuffs, this device sounds like it would destroy the cuff.

nope, much more natural feel actually. same as rings.
cuffs get destroyed through locked positions, perfect pushup allows you to rotate freely into your natural positions or not rotate. same with rings.

I like the thing, I have a bad wrist and it's way easier to hold the grip than have a flat hand with 90 degree wrist (or sometimes fists if on carpet). Also the deeper range of motion is great.
