Thinking of renovating my kitchen at some point in the next year and plan on doing it all myself (no major changes, just upgrading everything).

Anyone ever use RTA Cabinets or Clique Studios for their kitchen cabinets? Are they high quality or just cheap crap that I can find at Lowes or Home Depot? I want real solid wood, not that compressed particle board crap.

Also, should I be looking at other places as well?

Cabinets are fairly easy to build. If you don't have the tools for the doors you can go to rawdoors.net and order real wood doors for cheaper than you can make them.

I used cabinetjoint.com. Their cabinets are very high quality. Not cheap though. Custom down to 1/16”.

I used DL Cabinetry. RTA with many styles to choose from. No particle board. You can assemble them or they will for you...at a cost.

Just did a reno for a client and used cabinets to go. They were okay, did a whole kitchen for 3k and they turned order around in a week. If on tight budget and timeline these are not terrible.

when we started our renovation we were just going to refinish our cabinets for about $5k. Then we were going to replace them with a new layout using J&K Cabinets (RTA), that was going to be around $9k.
The J&K Cabinets were ok, I just didn’t like the style/colors available. We went with CabinetJoint for a few reasons:
1. Endless options, truly semi custom/custom. Over 1,000 colors and pretty much any wood species you could want.
2. Custom down to 1/16”. No filler strips.
3. Biggest reason for me....they offer inset cabinets, not many options for RTA and inset.
4. Construction. Cabinets boxes are built using sliding dovetails, glue, and brad nails. A high quality method.
5. We were able to use an independent designer they recommended for about $500 total, which they credited back about 75% when we purchased from them. You absolutely need a designer if you are going to use this company. Too many choices and the ordering is confusing for a first timer.
