2016 Speed Queen listed in good condition with no operating issues.

I’ve read that the newer Speed Queens just aren’t the same quality as older models. Does this 2016 fall into the high quality range? Seller is asking $600. That seems a bit steep for an almost ten year old washer, even if it is a Speed Queen.

Seems like a good deal. The new ones with the knobs seem to be the same quality. I have have one, TC5. The government cracked down a few years ago with water consumption so they stopped making it for a year or so. They just renamed the normal cycle heavy duty and named a water saving cycle normal.

It should be around $300 anything over that is high. Though used appliances that are quality go for more.
I used to grab direct drives when I saw them tossed out. Clean them up and sell them for $250-350.
I wouldn't pay $600 for a used washer.
Even a speed queen.

I need a new washer, my old Kenmore 110 decided to start leaking oil from the transmission. Looked up the replacement part and it's $250, been looking for something similar on the Facebook marketplace.

If you're a DIYer and the machine is in good shape I would buy this transmission.
LINK

The only special tool you need is a spanner wrench.
Two spring tabs hold the body on. 7/16 nut holding the agitator on. Spanner nut then 3 3/8 bolts holding on the transmission.

Move motor and pump to new transmission after install. Throw in a new seal and bearing too and you'll have a machine that will last another decade or two.

Napoleon, am I misremembering or did you not once list a pecking order of quality under the Whirlpool brand umbrella? Is there really a significant difference (specifically washers)?

Never got a response from the Speed Queen seller, so I’m shifting gears. Referring to the following brands:

Amana
KitchenAid
Maytag
Whirlpool

$160 is more tolerable for a fix. I'll pick one of those up, I can handle the repair

If Whirlpool is GM and Whirpool machines are GMC (standard but with some high end models)
Then Amana is Chevy (tried and true basic machines)
Kitchen Aid is Buick (slightly fancier chevy)
JennAir is Cadillac (fancier but with a lot of issues)
And Kenmore is sometimes made by them.

For a washer though I say just get the cheapest one. Your lucky to get 6-7 years out of a new machine before serious failure.

You mind telling me what parts I need for the seal and bearing? Appliance parts pro has a kit LINK

My model number is 110.24642300 do I need that whole kit or just a couple of those parts?

You really only need to replace the main upper seal. That kit comes with the other seal and a push bearing. I was thinking it had the beating held in by two bolts.
Unless your machine makes a loud nose when spinning I would just replace the seal. The bearing is a harder job on those and it's more expensive.
