I usually buy whatever is cheapest at Lowe's and replace them every year or two. They usually run $15 to $20. Are some of the more expensive models worth it? I'd rather just replace the cheap ones than have to work on the expensive ones.

It seems like they are all built similarly when handling them.

TIA

I use a 2 gallon Solo tank sprayer (and Solo backpack sprayer) and very happy with it. No issues with it after 4 or 5 years but replacement parts are available to buy if needed. LINK

And like you I bought the cheap ones from the box stores and usually replaced them every year or 2. Not any more.

Thanks, just ordered the Solo 430-2G from Amazon. If anybody needs one they are currently on sale for $28.46, free shipping.

I’ve had good luck from some that are branded “Roundup”- not sure who makes them.

I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue with handheld sprayers- even the cheap ones. I always empty them and wash them out good.

I keep three- one for insecticide and fungicide, one for Roundup only, and another for 2-4,D tank mixes.

I spray a good bit and tried an electric one from Site One by Lesco. Ended up getting another one b/c I liked it so much. Pump is in the handle so no chemicals go thru it. No more pumping and seems like it’s good for abt 8 2-gallon tank sprays on a charge. It’s pretty damn good and def recommend it.

In my experience, you gotta just buy an expensive one to begin with. I threw away six of the cheap ones before I finally broke down and bought a $90 five gallon backpack sprayer. I should’ve done that to begin with.

Ditto on a Ace Hardware 2 gal. I usually threw them away after one year because they don’t work. The Ace one has been good. I would like a backpack battery version sometime that is easily calibrated.

I have a Field King 2 gallon sprayer. I use the crap out of it, haven’t had it long so I’ll see how long the battery holds up.

The tank and hand pump usually don’t matter. The wands are crap. If you put a brass wand amd tip your troubles are over

5 gal Dewalt backpack sprayer here. It will make quick work of a job but you have to spend a lot of time cleaning it out between chemicals and it’s a bit heavy for the old lady.

Good news is I can cover the whole yard pretty fast with that sucker it covers quite a bit with the right nozzle.

the best cylinder sprayers are the ones used to spray concrete curing compound. Look on grainger or you can get them at construction supply places like CS&E
