I'm only aware of Leslie's and Pinch-a-penny. Are there any locally owned options to get something today? I'd like to avoid buying online if possible since these aren't easy to service.

If you have/had a builder, you could try the NPT store near Siegen. They sell them, but not sure they will sell direct to public.

If you buy a Maytronic robot online, they will still service them and do warranty work locally. If you have a power outlet close enough to the pool I’d recommend Maytronic over the Polaris robots that screw into your pool jets.

Pinch a penny is locally owned. It’s a franchise. Leslie’s is probably the same.

Clearwater of Sherwood might have what you need in stock today. Used them for service and they were decent.

That is part of my problem. I purchased my current one online. When I need warranty work on it, the local service companies that I get referred to don't want anything to do it. So I end up shipping it off and it takes forever to get back.

I'd get a Maytronic and Pinch a Penny can work on them. Just make sure it is one they work on, they might even be able to get a decent price on one.

been there, done that. It's hard to get them on the phone or even to reply to an email. I then have to wait for them to send me a label then I can box it up and drive to FedEx. Then I get to wait a few weeks for it to come in. I really want to just grab the thing and walk it into a local business that can repair it.

they are - new owners now. I have noticed a decline in the customer service, etc. Previous owners were great!

I'm not alone. lol. I found them on TFP like everyone else a few years back. They have just gotten so busy that they struggle to keep up. They are good folks, but just busy.

All the local places told me they would only handle the warranty repair for things they sold to me. Clearwater is the only one that would do it since I bought it elsewhere, but they told me they would charge me a $75 bench fee to handle the warranty repair.

I would always go to the Prairieville locatoin. Brandon & Mackenzie Hill were fantastic to deal with.

I believe they moved back to FL - I would say this is within the last year or so

The cleaner died a few days after I bought it. Since then the motor assembly has had to be replaced a couple of times. The easiest issue was the power supply going out. Apparently, they will just ship that out and you don't have to worry about shipping it there then getting the replacement. Even then, you have to go the better part of a week without the cleaner working.

Yeah. Some of the employees have a methed up aura about them. The quality since Brandon left has done a nose dive.

Poolpartz

PoolPartz is the certified refurbished seller for Maytronics and can be found on the Maytronics website.

I bought our Triton from them last year and would do it again. There was an issue a couple months after using it where it would not complete the full cleaning cycle, which I think was a bug caused after I used the bluetooth feature. Anyway, PoolPartz wanted me to ship it to one of their authorized repair shops which was going to cost me about $125. I complained loudly and they eventually sent me a prepaid shipping label. The unit was back in less than a week and has worked as designed since. I never used the Bluetooth since just to prevent a possible repeat problem and its not needed.

I reasoned the risk of buying refurbished online as it being cheaper than a year of pool service. If I had to buy one every year I am still ahead. It keeps the pool clean much better than any pool service we had.

Leslie is all corporate owned stores wi extremely high employee turnover up to and including district management. Don’t expect any quality service. I recommend Sunshine Pools in Denham Springs. Mom and Pop who want to earn your business
