We moved to a new house last summer so this is my first “cool season” with my yard. Since Christmas I have had a good bit of clover pop up. It’s making the yard look terrible. What is the best way to kill the clover without harming my grass?

Nitrogen fertilizer. Fix this first and it will be easy to control.

Atrazine or any product with it in it. Will kill it and it wont come back. Just make sure you read instructions or you might kill some other stuff too that you wanted to keep.

2,4-d. Your warm season grass is dormant so 2,4-d wont hurt it

You can get everything for the weed cocktail above from the "frequently bought together" link on this Amazon page, it just has a different brand surfactant.

Amazon

So am I mixing with 1 or 2 gals of water? I don’t want to smoke my lawn going too hot on the mix.

ETA. NVM, I figured it out.

Instead of buying the surfactant..... just put in a little liquid soap, it does the same thing.

Laid out the cocktail this morning. How long before I start to see some impact?
Should I let it kill the weeds before mowing?

You should wait 48 hr after spraying prior to cutting grass (hint: that info is almost always provided on the herbicide label), whether you see impact on the weeds or not. On clover, you should see results pretty quickly, usually within 2 or 3 days. Other weeds, might take longer, often a week or 2
