I cant get the mower to start, doesn't even turn over. Battery test ok. The mower has headlights on it so when I am not sitting on the mower, key in on position lights should come on (ready to start).
Most of the time they do not come on, sometimes they flicker on and off. Regardless if they are on or not they will be off when I try to start and sometimes I hear clicking.
With the key in the on position and the parking brake engaged (handles swung out) the lights off, they come on when I disengage them (swing them in) and go off when I swing them out.
With the key on, handles swung in, and I push on the seat the lights cut off. When I pull the PTO the lights cut off.
What is going on here?

there's a safety switch a the bottom of the arms that was not engaging when I had a problem similar to this. I had to replace that switch and it worked.

I have a hustler that will occasionally have the same issue. Mine hasn’t need to be replaced, but you have to go in and loosen a bolt and make an adjustment to the switch that the arms engage.

Had a similar problem with mine. Come to find out the battery had an open cell. Replaced the battery and been going ever since.

It wound up being the battery. Even tho it tested good on the counter something was off in it. Replaced and cranked right up.
