Yes, most trucks come in 10 yard trucks.

Nope.

You get topsoil by the yard, fella.
Usually 3, 6, etc

I had 4 loads (regular dump truck size) of "topsoil" delivered at the end of the summer for $600.

Now...what is your definition of topsoil?

AND you gotta move it or hire someone to move it for you.

I remember doing a job for a guy with soil subsidence issues and his yard needed three 12 yd. truckloads of fill to get it back up to grade. His lot was narrow so it all had to be wheelbarrowed around the house.

The truck would drop off a 12 yd. load of spillway sand at the curb in front of the house and I'd more it in one day. That shovel and wheelbarrow worked the hell out of me. I did that 3 times over the course of 2 weeks and swore I'd never do it again.

if you need shallow fill get sand. If you need deep fill get fill dirt. If you need garden/bed full get “garden mix” which is ground forest products. You’re not going to know what you are getting if you buy “topsoil”

Call me old school, but what is preventing you from from getting cost from one or more companies who provide this type of service.

This. The amount of people who post questions about cost of basic services is staggering.

A few quick phone calls could easily give them a starting point----------AND they would be from people who actually do that type work or offer the type service needed.

Be extra careful where you get your dirt from if it's river silt you will regret it.

No kidding, I put out a ton of dirt (several tons tbh) for some raised beds here recently.

1000 reps with the shovel will have you feeling brand new aches you've never thought possible

I could understand it if someone is trying to do a project that requires a decent amount of figuring out the proper steps, what type permits may be required, things to take into account and things to avoid, etc.

However, to ask for pricing on soil indicates a level of laziness or total ineptness I know nothing about. Pick up the phone, make a few calls to places in your area that sell topsoil and go from there. It's really that easy.
