I'm probably north of 100 mows. Reel mower and I never cut more than 1/8th of an inch off the blade.

My lawn would look like shite if I only mowed every other week. Call me crazy but I like my home and property to look nice.

FYI. People who mow their grass twice a week are psycho

Don't usually start until May, done by October. Didn't mow last June, it didn't rain. So, 20 I guess. Bermuda-ish, mid TN.

Are you managing the lawn at the White House? Why the f do you mow twice a week
I do a lazy form of composting in that I save up my produce scraps (non-citrus), egg shells, used tea leaves and coffee grounds and just spread it over the lawn every few days and mow it over.
Second, it's something I enjoy doing. Pop the earbuds in and make my lawn and garden pop. I take pride in my ability to landscape and maintain my outdoor spaces. I want my lawn to have crisp edges, no weeds, even green across the board front and back. If it's a special occasion I'll even mow out a pattern. When I pull in after a day's work, I want to tell myself "Damn, my house looks good."
Plus, during those spring and summer months, a quick rain here and there can delay a mowing schedule significantly.

Used to be in the mid 30s when I had a grass lawn. Now that we've moved to a fully wooded lot with no grass, I pick up limbs and power blow about that many times a year.

North La. with 120 large trees on 1.3 acres of yard.
I mow grass starting in April when sun finally hits it. I mow once every 2 weeks till Oct.
In Nov. I start mowing leaves once every 3 weeks till Feb.

Never. That's what my lawn man is for. I don't even own a lawnmower anymore.
