LG fridge water/ice dispensing issues

Fridge has been issue free for 5+ years. When I go to dispense ice or water it will not dispense. If I open the door while continuing to hold the dispense tab down a ~2-3 second window of water or ice will dispense then stop. I replaced the water filter and issue persists. Anyone dealt with this an able to self correct?
edit to add..
Filter removed, same issue
Flipped breaker and allowed for reset, same issue
Held down dispenser for 2 minutes incase air was trapped, same issue

Not that problem but my Samsung ice maker only lasts about a year and I replace it. Maybe the switch or cable for the dispense button?

Your line may be frozen. Cut the water on the fridge line and pull off the line. Get a coat hanger or something small and there will be a plastic part with a nozzle. Poke in there and see if you’ll hit ice. That fixed mine once the freezer was thawed out a bit.
Also a tip - if the ice maker won’t make ice, there is a jumper sequence inside the freezer that you can to cycle it.
Good luck and I think your line is frozen

It is dispensing water for 2 - 3 seconds if the door is opened, full stream. It dispenses ice when the door is open for the same period of time. It is continuing to make ice. I do not believe the line is frozen as these things would not be occurring. If the door is closed then we have zero water or ice dispensing.

Check the wiring harness running from fridge body to door. It usually is routed from under the fridge up the bottom of the door.
Just had issues with my ice maker, turned out my door wiring harness had two wires that snapped from to much tension while opening the door.
Wired in two jumpers with some butt connectors and the ice machine started working again.

I agree with above opinion. If not the wiring, than the door open/close switch

My old LG would stop dispensing immediately if the door was opened. Sounds like a switch issue.

This isnt meant to hijack your thread but it is LG related. Long story short, my LG fridge's compressor went out. Mind you, this is a 2015 model, and while it is covered by a warranty, they would only send you the compressor- you or a repairman would have to install it. Repairman said labor is around 500 and up bucks because its one of those linear compressed systems. And he isn't certified to work on LG (thus voiding the warranty) but every 'certified' LG repairman in my area either doesn't work on them anymore or refuses to. I had lots of repair companies say if I had whirlpool or Frigidaire that they could work on those. So I ditched the fridge and bought a new whirlpool for the amount of money I would have spent to fix a 7 year old fridge.

Old Kenmore is still a great fridge. Ice hardly ever used but taste funky when used. We stopped using it but filter sensor says it's time for filter to be replaced. Filter now cost around $60+ to replace. Wife refuses to buy another one. Seems like sensor has a timer based on time rather than amount of water that passes through. We simply remove the old filter, then reinstall the old filter, then reset. Fringe sensor thinks it's a new filter and accepts. Pesky red light goes back to green and my wife can stop worrying. Probably saves me about $120+ a year. People can still be happy and content without a cool water fridge Despenser.

This is how every mass marketed fridge works.
If you must have filtered water(my wife swears she tastes the difference) buy an in line filter setup for between the fridge and the plumbing connection. Way cheaper and you can explain to your wife that pesky light doesn't mean shite.
Plus the filters they sell for the in line set up tend to do a better job.
