Should landscape edging stones/blocks match the house brick color or contrast with it?

I have one that will perfectly match the bricks and another that is close but also contrasts with the brick color. I like both but I’m at a loss since I never really considered it until now. What does this board do?
Edit: I’m referring to these

I use a edger spade and create natural border, scoop the dirt into the beds. Maintain the edge with weedeater. Looks good, and only cost some sweat…. But I’m not sure if that’s what you are asking about

If you decide to match your brick wall don't use concrete edging blocks, the red pigment they use ages pooly. Instead use new or old clay brick. Look for landscape grade rather than construction. Also do not buy cored brick with the big holes. They are intended to be used in light weight brick facades and my crumble after prolonged ground contact.
Another caution about concrete blocks, pavers, etc. With a little wear the small gravel in them will show through on the surface causing a color shift. My "slate blue" pavers are turning brown as the gravel shows through. It's not bad, just unexpected.
If you opt for a shallow trench, reinforce with a substantial metal edge material...not the thin stuff you get from big box stores.

We have a red brick house and gray concrete landscape borders (where we use those due to elevation changes). We do natural edge more often than not.

I spent too much time overthinking this.
Went with a color that did not match very well at all.
At the end of the day, it looked fine and no one noticed the contrasting color except me.

I prefer and have the concrete colored ones around my A/C and Pool Equipment pads. We used railroad ties for my garden home landscaping. I trench about half of the tie in the ground to keep in place.

Yea I think I’m going with one that isn’t an exact match but close enough to not look out of place. Just enough contrast.

Do you keep your beds and tree wells higher, level, or lower than your lawn?

They’re little higher than the lawn. I want the stones to prevent washout, I’ve had big issues with that over the years.
