So we are older and kids are grown and gone so we find ourselves with freedom and money. It would be nice to have a cooling 2-4 person pool in SW Lafayette summers and a hot tub in SW LA winters. Anyone heard of such?

In ground small pool that you can also heat like a big hot tub? I haven’t seen one like I presume you’re describing, but if you find the right pool guy, they’ll build whatever you want.

Make it a little bigger and add tanning ledge and fountains or waterfall features. It’s nice to sit out back and listen to the waterfall and fountains. Your main problem will be summer temps. It’ll heat up big time. Will need an added chiller.

If that’s all you truly want and don’t plan to sell or move, I say go for it

It’s called a cocktail pool or a spool if you’re trying to research.

a pool guy will build you what ever you want. you are simply wanting a large hot tub with a chiller so you can do both.

like someone else said, add water features etc

if i may make a suggestion tough...build a very small pool and a seperate hot tub. make it easier to heat and cool.

Google plunge pools. Pre cast concrete pools that are easily installed in a short period of time.
