I'm adding a double car garage adjust to my house and I'm considering 22x22. It will store a mid sized truck and car.

Mine is 25wide x 24deep. Depth is good, lots of space front and back. Could use another few feet of width.

Yes. Nobody has ever complained about too much room in their garage.

Go deeper. Mine is 26 ft deep and it's tighter than I would like with a full size truck. I'd go at least 30 ft.

According to the fricking home builders now 20x20. Build it as big as you can, you will not regret it.

Mine is 21x22.

We fit a highlander and Cx-9 comfortably. I’m also able to keep my zero turn in a corner, wood rack against the back wall, and entirely too many outdoor kids toys and bikes along the other walls.

I have a F150 and my wife a Landcruiser. We can fit both with opening all doors wide open. I’ll have to go look up size.

just built one....30 deep by 25 wide. 18 is the larger size door opening with 16ft standard. Anything other than that is custom and $$$.

30 will give room for shelving on the back wall. with shelving on both sides 25 will be adequate, but i wouldn't mind another foot on each side.

Our current garage is 24x24. Can fit an expedition and Titian in it but it’s tight so I usually park in the driveway.

It’s sort of like building a shed.
Bigger is better

Typical length and width is 22 x 22. I measure them every day. You can smile when you get a length and width of at least 24 x 24 .....that is a person who planned ahead.

22 x 22 ends in more junk and no room for the car.

Our garage in Wyoming was 25 width and 30 long. I could put my Camaro on stands, remove the engine, take a break and play a game of pool while basking in the heat of the gas heater, when it was -20 wind chill outside.

Make sure it is at least two bays 12+’ wide X 24’ deep. Don’t put one opening. I have never met a woman who will leave enough room for the other vehicle.

TD.com always does things bigger than normal. Don't listen to them about what "standard" is.

New homes have 16' or sometimes 18' wide doors. The garages aren't much wider than that. The garages in most of the new homes in Livingston Parish are 18x18.I've seen some DSLD and DR Horton homes that are a little smaller. People just park one vehicle in there if at all.

Standard before those stucco homes became normal was 20x20 in baton rouge because they were "car ports" without doors, but obviously some opted for bigger. An older home that was built with doors in mind probably was 22x22, with an 18' door.

Neighborhoods with $330k+ homes in the BR area often have larger garages. 22x22 at least, but often 24x24 or so but I'm not sure I would call it standard. You get much bigger than that and you need 3 separate doors to really take advantage of it, which you do see sometimes.

Mine is 26 feet wide and about 40 feet deep (some of it is work space. The width allows me to open the door on my full-sized truck completely on both sides.
