What do i need for socket wrench to get this bolt off

Have mercy. I’m a girl. I’m trying to fix my washing machine. I can’t get the bolt off that holds the agitator to the bottom of the tub. The bolt is i stew the agitator.
I tried a slinky like extension socket wrench thing attached to a drill but it kind of just stripped the bolt a little.
I think i need something stronger/solid- not slinky like. That thing was made to get around weird corners
I’m determined to get this done myself. i put 3 hours of work into it already. And oil is everywhere from the gear casing going bad, so it’s been a gross job. It will be easy once I get this stupid bolt off.
The agitator is 13 inches long. How am i going to get that bolt off?
Thank you for your help. Yes yes i should have hired someone. I did. Long story….
Forgot to post the pics. I’m adding now

They sell socket wrenches with a head that can rotate to fit different angles.
Lowes link
If you can fit your arm down the agitator then this could work and give you better torque than the extender you're using.

Not sure what a slinky extension is. What's wrong with a regular socket and extension?

Ratchets come in different sizes (for the square male on the ratchet that the socket connects to). 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" is usually what you will see. If you already have a ratchet, figure out what size it is, probably a 3/8". So you would need a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter for the 1/2" extension and then another adapter, 1/2" to 3/8" for your socket that you already have.

I meant to link a 3/8 extension. Thanks.

But I did assume she is using a 3/8 socket and drive so she does need to determine what hse has.

There appears to be a tremendous amount of rust and corrosion to the point that not much of the hex is available.

Or this one. I have a whole box with the wratchet thing with adapters and different sized things so either of these will work i believe. I’ll bring it just in case.

No it’s good. It’s just got asian on it. There’s a plastic cup/cap like piece that sits on the top of the agitator. It comes off easily, so dirt accumulates in there. It’s a dumb design. The cup/cap just clicks on rather than screws on. Everything knocks it off - jeans, towels, sheets etc .
The scew was all gray until the the little wrench bit thingy spun out when i stupidly attached it to the drill. It wiped some of the gunk off of it. I can get a good grip on it though. it’s just on there REALLY tight.

Impact driver
1/4" impact driver socket adapter in corresponding size.
18" extension for whatever appropriate socket size.
Correct socket.
A couple ugga duggas and you'll be cussing yourself for not having the right tools in the first place.

And make sure it's a 6 point socket and not a 12 point

Three things that may help.....
If you have a short piece of 1 inch PVC pipe, use this over the end of wrench to make the handle longer. This will give you better leverage to "break" the bolt loose. OR.... use a hammer and maybe the ratchet wrench extension piece to hit on the end of the bolt. Doing this might loosen the rust to allow the bolt to come out a little easier.
Spraying some "liquid wrench" on the bolt and allowing it soak for an hour++ would also help loosen the bolt.
Good luck.

Stupid question...are you sure it's not left handed threads?

Not stupid, but I dug into that a few months back and they all seem to be normal right handed threads.

If you're having a problem with grip this work well. My wife bought me one last Christmas. I worked it to death and it held up for a good while. Universal socket.

I’d try and find a parts diagram or YouTube vid to figure the size of the bolt head.

If possible, use a 6 point socket on stuff like this, less chance of stripping the bolt head.

I took mine off with a an 1/2 impact wrench with extension socket.
