It is time for my retreatment on my termite contract. In the past they have used Termidor HD (plugs along house in concrete) but also gave an estimate to go to Sentricon.

Termidor HD is $592, annual renewal of $125. Sentricon is $680, annual renewal of $180.

What say you?

When I moved into current house there was an existing Sentricon system. They wanted much more (like $300/yr) to maintain. I switched to termidor for $500 + $100/yr after. Haven't had any termites so I guess it's fine. Like not having those things in my yard personally.

We have J&J in Avoyelles for $300 a year with no problems. My home is over 120 years old so I also use Demon WP every two months. I spray under my house and around the perimeter. This combo seems to work.

All I can say is that fipronil, the active ingredient pesticide in Termidor, is an excellent termiticide. When I discussed with the state-wide extension entomologist with the LSU AgCenter, some years ago, it was his personal termiticide of choice.

Does anyone still do liquid treatment or just the bait traps?

Get Taurus sc, same active ingredient as Termidor. It is the best on the market. Trench treat your property and you’ll be good for at least 8 years, very likely much longer.

Are folks mostly using professionals for this, or DIY? Is Termidor HD a liquid treatment?
