Sometimes kids want to be someplace different for a few years. That's why I can't fault Louisiana kids for wanting to go out of state. Take those few years and be where you want to be. If you get drafted in the NFL, you don't get to make that decision. If you don't make it to the NFL, you likely end up back at home, or you can make a new life around where you went to college. I stayed in-state for college, but I didn't have a completely free ride to college.

More like white helmet.

In all of these recruiting pictures it is made clear the players like the all white uniforms (or at least the white pants/helmet combination). I think the traditionalist...myself included...are going to have to accept we are going to see the all white combo more in the coming years (though personally, I think it still looks good)

I agree with you, but I believe people here take it so hard losing in-state talent to out-of-state teams because we don’t have another big time D1 school in our own state.

And most of the time, they leave for a rival of ours which hurts the fans heart even more.

But, like you said, at the end of the day, the kid is doing what they think is best for themselves. And if moving away/out of Louisiana to experience something different, more power to the kid!

He's from TX... him "leaning" out of state is a very good thing for us. Especially him saying that on the heels of having him visit in Baton Rouge. I see the two as linked.

He changed his timeline up though. Before he wanted to commit before the season now he wants to take some visits in the fall. Definitely feels like he has a leader in his recruitment.

If he’s wise, he’ll wait to see what kind of product we put on the field. I love LSU, and I want all these guys to come here. But there isn’t any harm in waiting to see how our season takes shape. In this day and age, recruits should be much more analytical about who they trust their futures to. Besides, I think all it will do is put us farther ahead. Kelly seems like the kind of guy we’ve desperately needed. On top of that, he knows he has a spot here.
