Sorry to disappoint you but iam not one of the melters. I was back in the nineties. If the rant was active back then with the way we played, there would be a bunch of porn bombs.

It was common for Louisiana's best players to go out of state. Kevin Faulk broke that trend in the long run. Then Saben really put a fence around Louisiana. If Brian Kelly had the results he has now back then, no way would his job be in question. It was a major achievement in the 90's just to go bowling.

Just a habit I guess. I try to keep up with all LSU news. I will still keep up with recruiting but will not get overly excited about a kid that commits until I know he is coming here. I watched underwood's interviews. He talked about nil not being a issue about where he plays. More about development at LSU. While wearing a big arse LSU jewel incrusted chain.

The kid did what was best for him. I was really looking forward to him coming here because the kid has talent.

Now when signing day comes and we get the big fishes, I will be happy as hell.

A lot of big boys on the list. Trenches might be the best we’ve seen in years.

Certainly not complaining about the Quality of talent in Louisiana.

However… would like to see a larger Quantity of the Quality every year in Louisiana.

For example….The state of Georgia usually has 30 …four star players to recruit within their borders.

The state of Louisiana could have …
10 four star players in a good year.

True, it would be great if Louisiana had the number of highly-rated recruits that Georgia has, but that's going to be pretty much impossible to achieve in any given year.

Louisiana's small population in comparison to states like Georgia, Texas and Florida will always prohibit Louisiana from having the sheer number of elite recruits as those states.

Where LSU has an edge is having no in-state competition for the top Louisiana recruits. Even Mississippi and Alabama schools have to fight off fellow SEC schools in their own states. Also, there is a fairly common belief that Louisiana recruits are often undervalued by recruiting services. Whether or not that holds true, I can't say with certainty, but it's often mentioned.

I've seen that Lamar Brown really likes A&M and they're prepared for a bag war.

Richard Anderson is going to the highest bidder at the end of the day. He saw what Stewart commanded in the market.

I love that Kenny Darby came out and said his recruitment was still open

We might as well prepare for some of those top end guys to go elsewhere. Money may not be the lone driving force, but it’s one of them and schools are prepared to throw bags of it at these highly touted prospects.

Explain why Berry, Curne, Pickett and Thomas are in this class. Do you think no one else was throwing money at them? Do you think we somehow got a discount?

They all most certainly got continuous "raises" from us in their offers as other teams tried to poach.

If Celestine had more size, he would be more sought after by LSU. Dude is lightening fast and so much fun to watch.

Without knowing anything about him, how much does he compare to say Trindon Holliday since size wise they are very similar. This guy a track star too?

I assume the 2026 ratings will change significantly before the next signing date, but ten blue chip players (four & five stars) is considerably less than most previously classes ranked by On3. You have to go back 2010 to find Louisiana class with just 10 blue chippers. On average, the state produces 16 blue chip players per year with a high of 26 in 2016.

Top 10 look like an avg La haul.

...the On3 Industry rankings put 6 Louisiana kids in the top 78 overall for the 2026 cycle. If that holds, it will be only the second Louisiana class in the past decade (along with 2022) to hit that mark. And that's even before you account for the fact that Louisiana, being a state with a less-developed camp/7x7 circuit and fewer true (national-level) powerhouse programs than the other states with a comparable talent pool, has among the most late risers of any state - which means that the top of the heap at the end of a given cycle is likely to look better than the top of the heap in the preceding January.

It's an excellent Louisiana class. Even more exciting for the fact that it seems to have lots of kids at premium positions.
