Slashed .323, 12 HRs and 54 RBIs. Wonder if we give him a look.

Looking at their #s:

Costello: .259, 15 HRs, 59 RBIs, .961 OPS, 185 ABs, 41 BB, 29 Ks.

Jones: .323, 12 HRs, 54 RBIs, .993 OPS, 3 SB, 201 ABs, 26 BBs, 53 Ks.

Looks like Jones has a higher K rate. But outside of that seems to have had a better year than Costello.

I'd like to get another Tommy White at 3B. Defense and a power bat.

Funny part is, Tommy wasn’t known for his glove before coming to LSU. Rantards yelled that Jay doesn’t develop players.

Tommy White developed into a better fielder while at LSU.

He wasn't really good at third his first season here, .859 fielding percentage. He made 13 errors in 92 chances.

By comparison, John Pearson had a .864 fielding percentage, though in fewer chances, and I'm not sure all were at third. He made 8 errors in 59 chances.

White improved to .971 in 2024; he made 3 errors in 105 chances. To put that in perspective, Milam this season had a .981 fielding percentage with 4 errors in 214.

White's significant improvement is the reason I will not throw in the towel on the possibility that Pearson may improve. But he will have to work hard to get there, as Tommy did.

White was better in the field than many posters here gave him credit for at Nc state. There was a misperception that he was some 300 pound goof who just hit home runs but scouting reports mentioned he was better than you’d think in the field when he transferred in so that narrative was always false

while playing 1B don’t think he played 3rd at NC State at all, which was the main reason Jay was able to get him here.

Right but the reports were still there. He was noted to have decent athleticism for a guy his size and showed more than a lot of people gave him credit for defensively

Maybe make it work if he had 20 homers. The guy who left LSU had more homers than him.
