Couple days ago I was reminiscing about LSU's 2019 team.

I was looking at the box scores.

Our defense was pretty bad in 2019 but it could've been due to our offense scoring so quickly.

We’d win the natty with that same defense in 2023

Once everyone was healthy and their roles were established, it was a pretty salty defense. Had warts but was plenty good enough with that offense.

LSU's defense was not bad in 2019. Anyone who thinks this did not watch games. How many times was LSU defense asked to put the clamps down on a team and answered? LSU responded every single time they needed to. They took their foot off the gas in most games because at some point everyone knew it was over due to how good the offense was.

Did you see LSU's defense take the clamps off in their closest game in Auburn? That defense was way better than their statistics showed.

Pure talent I think he’s better than toviano so I actually would take a chance ! Neither has experience but Patterson flashes when he’s got chances

The National Championship game is a good example.

So true, that Clemson offense came into the natty averaging 540 yards and 45 pts/game, and they held Clemson to 396 and 25 (which was better than what Ohio State's supposedly all-world defense managed to do).

Outstanding effort

2019 LSU was #11 nationally based on ESPN defensive efficiency rating. Which doesn't account for the tons of defensive injuries we had through they first 3 games of the yearo.

Not saying if he should be a take or not, but we've taken multiple players from teams who had bad offenses or defenses.

Kentucky and Arizona state had bad offenses and we took Barion and JD5 for example

You can still take players off bad teams if they have talent, and it appears this guy WOULD be worth taking if they wanted him

One of the dumbest myths around about LSU football.

They were average until the Ole Miss game. Straight fricking trash against Ole Miss, then drastically improved after Ole Miss.

I have posted this before, but worth the repeat...LSU defense over the last 4 games of 2019 season were going against 4 preseason Heiman hopeful QB's. They gave up ONE passing TD and had 6 INT's. That seems like good defense to me.

Absolutely we would've won a natty in 23' with that defense. It sucks that we weren't able to make a run at a title. That offense was incredible! I never thought I would see another offense close to the 19' offense in my lifetime, but 23' was definitely in the conversation. Just imagine how much better they would've been with a competent defense.
