Coming in, completely cold in the 9th, only 6 at bats all season, down 3, against the defending National Champs, in a game where we were DEAD in the water. Down to our last 2 outs. Pressure cooker situation. That will go down as one of the Most Clutch hits of the season.

Unbelievable at bat. To come in cold against a dude in the mid 90s and spin his lid like that is incredibly difficult.

I agree.

I was thinking about that today how that was such a huge hit and any other game that’s probably a magic moment

and then Jared Jones hits the longest home run i’ve ever seen to walk it off

if you notice, he changed his approach from last AB, where he watched a few pitches. He came out hacking right away. Snead was around the plate, so it was a good strategy.

It's not rocket science why he hasnt been able to get on the field. There are a plethora of LH OF's and then a bunch of the same guys jockeying for DH at bats. Look like he may have earned himself some more chances

Lot of guys including Beck, true team win. Pearson coming up and starting the rally. Pitching staff only giving up 3 runs kept the offense in the game.

I was wanting this kid to play for a while now. it's got to be tough for him to sit on the bench after transferring here thinking that he put together such a good season last year that he'd be a starter or more abs at least.

he hit 366 with 17 jacks last year

our pitching staff has been good. we don't really need to have a large number of guys step up. we just need ware and rizzy to come on a little. shores is another guy that could take off out of nowhere and help us a ton.

Williams isn't a bad lefty either and he could conf in vv h I I n

True, but it will be the Jones bomb that people remember.

Only one out when Beck was at bat. But you are correct, he was the hero there. Huge 2 RBI rip!

Sucks Beck is a Senior. He was a beast last year. Conference POTY I believe. He can give you innings on the mound as well. Let’s not forget about Curiel either, he had a yuge pressure AB as well

It will be interesting ti see if Beck gets some starts moving forward

Southland POTY last season

A 176 wRC+ a year ago. This is really freaking good.

Jay obviously thinks he can hit by inserting him into the game in crunch time situations his last two appearances.

That’s a tough ask 2 weekends in a row. Come in cold with only 6 at bats on the year.

I think Curiel was down 0-2 in the count then 1-2 before the hit

Not quite. Saw in another thread that Bear’s bomb was 111mph, while Beck’s was 107mph. That pitcher is lucky he ducked.
