Bringing a baby to a baseball or basketball game ?

Was wanting to come down to BR for the Bryant baseball game and Tennessee basketball game on same weekend and wanted another opinion on bringing a 7 month old. I wouldn't even consider bringing him to a football game until he was 3 or 4 yrs old but thought a baseball or basketball game might be okay . I'm assuming he'd need a ticket ? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Of course. All need tickets for football but only 3 and over for the other sports.

he'll need a ticket. Tennessee game may be somewhat difficult if you want several tickets together, assuming both teams keep winning. it's def the best option for little kids...it's indoors(weather), comfortable, and some decent entertainment at timeouts and halftime.

I took my youngest to both baseball and basketball no ticket

Basketball is inside and climate controlled, so I guess that’s better than keeping the child outdoors for 2-3 hours in possible cool/cold weather. Not sure if you need a ticket for a 7 month old.
That said, as a parent of young children, I don’t know if taking a baby to a ball game is a great idea. One, you’re never going to be able to fully enjoy yourself as you’ll have to obviously take care of the child. Two, the child wont exactly remember the experience. Three, do you want to expose a young child to 10k plus people in a confined space, some coughing, sneezing, etc?
To each their own, but I wouldn’t take a 7 month old to a game.

According to my parents...that's not a good idea. They said I couldn't be trusted until I was like 7 or 8. Kept trying to run onto the court & also kept getting nacho cheese in the people's hair in front of me.

You don’t need a ticket to basketball under the age of 2.

you know it would be much more enjoyable to watch the game at home instead of getting those sweet baby pics at the game for your wife's facebook ego.

Please don't bring a baby. It will be traumatic with all the noise.

From LSUsports.net:

Who needs a ticket?
All fans, regardless of age, need a ticket to enter Tiger Stadium for all football games. For all other sporting events, fans ages 3 and above need a ticket.

You don’t need a baseball ticket until they’re 3

Just why would you do a silly thing like that? Do you actually believe that the baby will have a good time? Do you actually believe that the strange surroundings and all of that noise won't upset him?
Seriously why? I'd like to know why you would inflict that level of discomfort on an infant. I'm curious.

For one.. GFY
TWO .. We like going to games but live two hours away. We wanted to go to a baseball game on Friday evening and basketball game for morning tipoff at 11.. this would require an overnight sitter which isn't that easy to do.
Three.. I'd wreck your shite.. name the sonic.

Hell I'd argue a 7 month old is much easier to bring to a game than a 2 year old. I brought my son to several bball games at that age before we moved. He's a little older now but we took him and his younger sister to several Texas Rangers baseball games when she was a few months old.

Oh my. Send the baby to the games, but you stay at home. The baby would probably be better off without you.

That escalated quickly.

Ah. Ok The fact that YOU want it out ranks any discomfort that you put your child through. I get it. But since the feelings of your kid seem to be secondary to your wants, perhaps you might just consider the people who will be sitting near you when he cries. Babies cry. Often unexpectedly and for unexplained reasons. It's what they do. It's their job. I know, I know he's cute when he cries at home but the people who paid their money for the game(s) just might not think he's as cute as you do. It's possible you know.
You might not realize this but there will be other games in other years when he is old enough to enjoy them with you. Wait.

I didn't bring my kid to games that early, but my parents brought me to football games and as far as I know there weren't any issues. One thing I will say about the basketball games I've been to this year is that the PA is damn near loud enough to make your ears bleed. I wouldn't suggest that at all for an infant.
