Classic bye week thread im bored. Give your best guess as to which guys stay and go. Also who is out of eligibility and has to go? Hoping burns stays as he was having a solid year pre-injury. Are brooks converse foucha and ward all gone due to eligibility? What about garner he has been our best corner all year.

Kind of impossible to figure out without knowing who will actually return.
We do know JBC, Richardson and Foucha are out of eligibility. So they definitely wont be back.
Garner, Brooks, Ward have eligibility left but will they stick around or go to the NFL?
Banks if he only plays in 2 more games can use a redshirt and come back, but will he?
So there's a ton of moving parts there we just have no idea what direction things will go still. Then there's always the portal.

Do we go after Harris?

Welch will be a good player
The recruiting class is littered with DB's in it
Burns needs to stay healthy on the back end
Kylin Jackson can play immediately at S
Raydarius Jones missed the whole season but he could come back and he has showed some potential in the playing time he has gotten in the past
Garner for sure
Ryan experience is making him a better player as well

I think next year will be similar to last year in that CBK will have to hit the portal hard to find instant help in the secondary. Thankfully it doesnt appear as if we will need to hit the portal hard for any other position groups...perhaps a DL or two.

CB: jaelyn Davis-Robinson, Welch
S Sage Ryan, major burns, Greg brooks
But they will need to hit the portal hard there, again

I think Garner is gonna leave, he’s having an elite season and already had some hype before he transferred due to his measurables.

What about Derrick Davis? Highly rated and never hear about him in safety rotation.

Maybe you can say he has the physical ability to do so, but I doubt you have insight to his mental ability to learn all of his assignments. For perspective: Harold Perkins could not play immediately, and neither could Patrick Peterson.

Can't say who will be starting, don't really know who will be in it. I'm sure we'll be better though. We're squeezing all of the juice out of the orange this year. It's not bad this year, but we don't have that game breaking talent we usually have.
A better pass rush will help too.

Can somebody provide us with an assessment of Sage Ryan's play?
I was really excited when he signed with us, but have been disappointed by his play. I have not watched his film or focused a great deal on him, so maybe I have not been paying close enough attention...
He seems to have have all he physical tools to be a good player...

I'm no analyst, but that dude is out of position ALOT and always seems to miss tackles and give up big plays.
MY assessment, He sucks

Not sure about that. He’s smaller than we thought and was clearly over-ranked. Not saying he won’t turn out to be a solid starter, but he’s not ever gonna live up to his hype. He’s just not that good (as his hype, not that he’s not a good football player, though he really hasn’t been yet).

I'm not sure they are comfortable with Derrick Davis at S
Maybe you can try and bulk him up and move him down to LB and that would be a better fit for him

Is Garner not draft eligible this year? He's played pretty well and if eligible I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves.
