The sophomore has the Tigers playing in their first Sweet 16 since 2014. Through two games in the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament, the small forward averaged 29.5 points while grabbing 39 rebounds.
She’s been successful off the court, too, finding plenty of name, image and likeness deals. Her latest partnership is with the backpack company JanSport. In a video filmed for TikTok, Reese goes through her daily life with multiple bags from the brand. She also places a focus on mental health.

The deal with JanSport is one of the first known deals between the brand of backpacks and a college athlete. Reese has placed a focus on aligning with fashion brands, so it isn’t a surprise. In her TikTok, she shows off the company’s backpack and gym bag.

That's really cool.

Good for her.
I wonder if limiting NIL deals to players after they are playing for a school would clean up some of the NIL mess of basically paying recruits to go to a certain school.
Probably not, but for the revenue generating sports NIL is pretty messy.

Reese did a small interview talking about when she wanted to go pro. Says she loves college a lot and says she would make way more staying in college than going pro when discussing using her COVID year…

Angel Reese’s growing On3 NIL Valuation
The third-year sophomore has a $384,000 On3 NIL Valuation. The No. 6 valuation in women’s basketball is thanks to Reese’s social media presence. With more than 975,000 social media followers, the small forward is one of the most-followed college basketball players.
Along with NIL deals with major brands like McDonald’s, Sparkling Ice, Xfinity, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse and Discord, she also spent time working with ESPN’s Holly Rowe during the 2022 LSU football season.
Geez I had no idea she had that many NIL deals. Good on her.

Good, the more money she takes in at lsu, the more likely she will stay instead of going pro.

Fast breaks are so good. Life hack: buy the pack of mini fast breaks and put them in the fridge

Her stated NIL value is $384k. Happy for her. Didn't expect it to be this high. Anyone know what time period this is for? Are they projecting her to be in school a total of 4 or 5 years with the Covid year?

Don’t forget Raising Canes. Last time I went to one her cardboard cutouts and face was plastered everywhere

All of it has earned Reese the moniker “Bayou Barbie.” She’s fully embraced the nickname. Reese posted a photo on Instagram in January with the caption only including the nickname. And with the help of her team, she’s made the decision to trademark the nickname, with the hope she can set up a website and sell merchandise.

That’s awesome!
Mattel will crush her on that Bayou Barbie trademark attempt. Her ONLY hope is they make a doll that looks and dresses like her and give her part of the profit. A designer would have to pick it up.
They do not even let their fan clubs use Barbie in their names…

$384K NIL value and the women’s team will still lose money for LSU. Sounds like BS to me.

How are those two things related?

What does NIL have to do with the profitability of women’s sports? And moreover, why do you care if women’s basketball loses money?
