I would love to speak to anyone who would've been a student equipment manager or knows something about why LSU changed their pant stripes in 1991-1992. LSU introduced a small yellow gap between the white stripe when Curley Hallman came in to coach. It's been the same ever since.

It's been bugging me, and I feel like something or someone might point me in a direction.

Lets just recap this real quick.

You made an account to make a post about uniforms.

You made your username to reflect how much you care about the uniforms.

Given that your main priority with football is the pageantry, perhaps a&m is more your speed. They love playing dress up over there.

This board seems to have a lot of people who are unnaturally concerned about the stripes on LSU's football pants.

Wanna really start a discussion? Ask why the stripes on the pants don't match the stripes on the jersey. That keeps some posters awake at night.

What I take from this is that the gold has gotten yellower since 1991-1992

Love the Hodson era look.

Our gold was golder. Our purple was purpler. And there was just a better overall elegant simplicity to everything.

Legit question. I never really noticed that. Interesting. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the gray facemasks with the standard yellow helmet

This change is why the stripes on the white helmet and pants don't look right. It appears they took the same new stripes and just put them on white pants.

They should fix this, but having done it for this long, they probably won't.

The more important question is why don’t we have the full shoulder stripes anymore??

I’ve never understood why fans have such a hard on about minor inconsistencies in uniforms. Only like one in 1000 people would ever even notice or care.
