Question for old or semi old guys.

Do you have the same passion for the tigers as when you were younger. Maybe mis phrased that. Do you let your emotions get to like when you were younger over a game.
I remember getting kicked out of the house in El Paso when it was 115 degrees outside during the Jamie Howard fiasco. Wife saved the tv. I really get into it when I was young. Don't know how I survived during the blue grass miracle. Didn't know at the time I had a defective heart.
I tried watching live the past few years, but blood pressure through the roof. Have to dvr games and go with the flow.

I still had the same passion until about 5-6 years ago where I really started to get serious about my faith. That’s when I realized there are so many things more important and football is just a game.

I have toned it down quite a bit since then lol. But the early ninties were hard on LSU fans. At least I wasn't as bad as the bama fan shooting at his son a few years back. Don't care how bad a game is, can't see shooting at your kids.

I used to get pissed at refs and our bad decisions and would get really upset at other teams playing better than the tigers.
Now, I just laugh at piss poor officiating and enjoy the games. I even got to where I can appreciate the opponent's excellence.

I don't get as emotional over wins and losses as I used to. I think part of it is the amount of exposure on TV and the internet. There was a time when it was hard to get info about the Tigers and it was a big deal when a game was on TV. I used to drive around in my car looking for good reception of WWL just to hear a game. Now almost every game is broadcast and in one click I'm on TD getting more information than I know what to do with.

It’s all about perspective.
If you’re over age 40, the 2003 championship was probably more enjoyable than the 2019 season since you were younger and it was the first title since 1958.
If you’re under 25, the 2019 championship is probably more enjoyable than anything else, especially since you’re still young and just experienced that championship not even 3 years ago.

I wouldn't say less passionate. My understanding of the game has expanded to the point where I can appreciate what an opponent did to win. I don't get nearly as pissed off at a loss as used to. It's almost become what I would understand a zen like state would be.
Unless it's an SEC opponent, then frick that bullshite. If we lose I'm looking for houses with fricking SEC flags and I'm all about checking knuckles in the front yard, Sonic parking lot, bring it frickers.

Doing shite like this doesn't make you more passionate of a fan, you just have (had) poor impulse control and use your fandom as a shield for your behavior. Glad you grew out of it but that shite's not healthy.

I would say yes. I’ve been super passionate since my Dad took me to LSU vs Wyoming in 1967 Sugar Bowl in Tulane stadium . He was extremely passionate and naturally I became passionate too. Have been that way ever since. Have not missed a game either in person, tv or radio since.,Who can break that record? I bet someone can. Nothing much better than passion for my team. I will love the Tigers no matter what. They are my team

Been There. Done That. Performed on that grass for 8 seasons.
Still have the same passion for the LSU Sports Programs, but don't feel the obsessive need to be there any longer because of Been There, Done That........

The game is not the same anymore. I’ve always preferred college sports to professional because I felt the school spirit aspect trumped the business decision shuffling rosters of the NFL. Now high school players are making “business decisions” and college players are opting out of games. I’m just no longer willing to invest with the same level of emotion if the players aren’t.

No I don’t. The upside is people talking trash to me about LSU doesn’t bother me like it used too. Typically the ones who hate LSU, regularly get shitstomped by us.

It was ween we really sucked. Had a great chance at beating a ranked auburn team. We had big lead and all we had to do was run the ball. Nope. We decided to pass every play. Jamie Howard threw something like 4 pics sixes or around there. Wasn't mad at the team just really stupid coaching. I mean we had that game one. Any fan of LSU could have one that game as long as they said run it. Inner channel les miles on run the ball.

Yes, three titles and a Heisman is awesome in one lifetime. Also more objective about the games, but my blood pressure still goes up during games. Don't think I'll ever get over that! Go Tigers!

Since being in my 30’s, I’ve learned to not let myself get very upset over things I can’t control. I’m still a passionate fan, but I’m not going to let a loss ruin my day, let alone make me break a tv or something
