?? Shaq when asked which NBA player he finds entertaining enough to buy a ticket and go watch play: "Ben Simmons! Because I would wanna learn how you can make $80 million and play 55 games. Teach me! Teach me how you can f*****g play 55 games in 3 seasons and get $30 million, $40 million and get another $40 million just by saying your back hurts. Get some f*****g icy hot, man up!"

Simmons has the work ethic, drive, and motivation of a 6 year old, but to be fair, it’s Brooklyn’s and Philly’s fault for giving him such massive contracts.
Is he suppose to start denying the money, he’s now contractually obligated to? Hell Simmons has the cushiest job in the world right now.

Ben Simmons is a total loser. I wanted to like him so bad when he was here but couldn't. Biggest college basketball flop I can ever remember
Not shocked at all he is a loser in the NBA also

It's a real shame Simmons has talent but he has always ended up with terrible work ethic even when he was at LSU he was lazy.

That's correct. I remember watching a Michael Jordan interview where he said that he did not agree in giving ridiculous amounts of money to younger or rookie players b/c once you give them all that money, they will lose the motivation, power and desire to get better. First they need to prove themselves that they are deserving of more money, that they are hungry for more, and to make sacrifices to achieve what they want.
Ben Simmons & Jamarcus Russell have the same work ethic, or lack thereof. Blame these organizations, not the player.

Simmons is smarter than the fools that are paying him.

In his first few years he was ROY ('17), All NBA ('19), All Defense ('20), Steals leader ('20), 3 time all star.
Then that playoff series vs the Hawks, didn't attempt a shot in the 4th quarter in 5 of the 7 games. Became the worst free throw shooter in playoff history, broke Shaq's record. Joel Embiid called him out for passing up an open dunk in game 7. Within a year he became the most fined player in NBA history.

He has utterly thrown away his NBA career the last few years. To see someone about to turn 28 be that immature is impressive.

He is more intelligent than JR. He isn't bankrupt , isn't in jail, and he is still playing, in spite of his injuries.

Fast money , girls , cars that’s Big Ben Simmons no heart , no dog in him not even a puppy . There is a sucker born everyday and two to take him to the cleaners Ben has found suckers to pay him .

I love Shaq!
However, didn’t he get called out by his teammates for not working hard and getting out of shape? I’m pretty sure that caused the rift between him and Kobe.
So I don’t know if I would come down that hard on Simmons if I was him.

Simmons can not do the only thing in the game that registers points for your team....SHOOT.
He is useless, IMO.

But Shaq showed up. Unless he was hurt, he played. Even in his next to last season in Cleveland, he played 53 games. No skipping out because he wasn't in the right state of mind, showing up to games dressed like a clown, and posting endless offseason "see I'm working on my game" videos that never amount to anything.

This.
Shaq wasn't criticized for not playing hard in games, he never got kicked out of practice for refusing to participate in team drills and never missed the start of a season citing mental health issues (They want me to shoot the ball and score points?). Simmons owns all of that.

He has now as a LSU alumn made just about as much money salary wise as Shaq, Pistol, Angel, Semoine, old guy(slips my mind?) combined The new NBA is a joke, so many rule changes, so many lazyasses, so many making mega bucks off potential. Need to adapt NFL approach though thought of as cruel, you have to EARN your money or you gone.
