How many times did we not score in this situation this weekend? Feels like at least 5 or 6 times.
I’m thankful for the series win and being 12-6 but the offense is in a rut.
I’ll be glad when this slump is over. Better now than in June.

One where jones struck out
One where jones popped out
One where Dickinson struck out
One where jones struck out
The last one where three in a row struck out
I think there is one or two more tho

All season to be honest. This pitcher was legit versus right handed hitters. No 2 ways about it. Go look at his numbers closely

What’s really disheartening is that it’s the heart of LSUs batting order that is crapping the bed continuously. The bottom of the lineup seems to come through with big hits way more often that our 1-4 in the lineup.

According to SABR, in MLB, if there is a runner on third (and only on third) with one out, the team is expected to score at least one run 66% of the time.

So they fail 1/3 of the time, but this board makes it seem like you score in that situation 98% of the time

No, it’s just that lots of other teams are a lot better at it than LSU is.

In SEC play, we're batting .580 in those situations. Which is 7th best in the conference.

Surely you can find the data to backup this claim

“Clutch” hitting is one of the most made up terms in baseball. There is a ton of data that says there is basically no such thing as clutch hitting.

Good hitting teams overall will also be good at hitting with RISP, and bad hitting teams will be bad at it over the course of the season.

You may have some bad luck in batches, but it works it self out in the end. I was here in 2023 when much of this board said that team lacked clutch hitting and it would doom them too…

Love the optimism, but that team had a generational pitcher and a ton of on field leadership

Apples and oranges.

Point is, every team is different and comparing them really isn’t fair. Especially one that was dominant as the 23 team.

How do you know this one doesnt?

Up until the last game of the season, this fanbase and even a reporter were questioning lsu’s hitting with runners in scoring position. Pretty sure it was Leah vann who asked jay about it in the last postgame, and he basically acknowledged that it was a dumb question and something not worth responding to

That's more than enough to sicken even the least squeamish.

At the end of the day it’s just a hunch based on having been fortunate enough to watch some former on field generals who played at LSU.

But, you’re correct, I don’t know anything for sure.
