So Neal is definitely unavailable for the rest of CWS?

If Trav is actually injured is Milazzo all we have other than a position player playing if necessary.

It's pretty bad you can't have the whole roster available when it's only 35-40 anyway

I tend to agree especially knowing that Trav is somewhat a liability behind the plate and Milazzo is a liability at the plate. Neal started the season for a reason.

I get he hasn't played catcher in a game this year, but Jones was the #4 catcher in the nation coming out of high school. Neal was #2.

Frey was an absolute beast at catcher in HS. Pretty sure he could fill in if he had to.

Are pitcher position players? We have a pitcher who has a .367 BA in college with a 1.121 OPS and he's also caught quite a few games. After tonight he will no longer be available to pitch.
Just throwing it out there. It won't happen but could you imagine the legend of Paul Skenes if it did?

Every single one of these players were absolute beast on their high school teams. This game is in no way comparable to high school, especially the game tonight if Skenes is pitching.

Neal was hitting as bad as Thompson or Pearson are hitting right now before he got hurt.

Milazzo got hit pretty good on the hand last night with the bat on the follow through.

I believe it was said in a press conference that he is close to 100% and will go play summer ball. Only reason he didn't go to summer ball yet like some of our other guys is because Johnson wanted him with the team to get the Omaha experience. So it seems he is getting extra rest and getting the Omaha experience all at the same time and then will go play summer ball at 100% after the CWS.

Jesus with Thompson 1-18 maybe it's time to throw Guidry out there, he can't hit any worse. And apparently he's the shortstop next year.
