Spring portal...How is everyone feeling about the lack moves LSU is making?

How is everyone feeling about the roster & the lack moves lsu is making ? Listened to ays last night & he stated lsu doesn’t want to spend the money. The rest of the sec doesn’t care because they want to win, even Arkansas is active & actually landing productive guys.

We only picked one safety & one DT. I’m fine with no more DT’s but safety seems like malpractice! Media is lying to us when they say safety play has been really bad

Ays is saying the money has been spent & we don’t have anymore. If that’s the case I don’t see a path for us to ever win a title due to teams like Miami, Texas, Ohio state, Oregon & bama hoarding talent that we can’t afford

I guess call it a source off but Shea has said it's not a not wanting to spend money thing, it's a not finding anything they want to spend the money on. They don't feel what's currently in the portal is a big enough upgrade to potentially upset the roster. They don't want to risk losing someone because they added someone else. If they add someone it will have to be a significant upgrade.

Yep He is The safety from Houston has to have interest in us to come here Seems like he is just following his coach to Miami We can’t just spend tons of money on guys who may or may not make an impact I think we are ok at dt The guy from Syracuse wants money some have said

They should at least get a S in the portal because they looked mostly mediocre to bad depending on the player. Only one I saw getting any praise was Spears. The guy they brought in looked pretty average. He's more of a nickel guy and they should slot him as such where he's really good. They need to bring that big time Houston S in the portal over ASAP. If I have to see Gilbert lining up deep again you should just concede the loss at S this year. He was worse than Sage and Burns last year.

Well this is good news because he’s a moron. The kid from ULM just entered the portal yesterday, other than him find me someone in the portal that would come in and start! Kelly publicly stated that he’s happy with the roster and doesn’t plan on being aggressive in the spring window unless something changes. Blake is awful, he makes stuff up

I had heard someone discussing this a week ago and I believe they said LSU wasn’t going to to spend anymore money on depth but if a dominant player showed up and could start right away they would consider. Maybe they are more comfortable after spring.

Exactly....not losing anyone or gaining anyone. This means we have a really good football team and the coaches know it.

Idk why people get so enamored by every warm body that enters the spring portal.
The Spring portal is basically filled with P4 backups who see the writing on the wall and players from smaller programs who know bigger programs will likely overpay out of desperation.

If true and LSU is able to seal the deal with any of these guys... I wouldn't even expect an announcement until after the portal closes. It's chess, not checkers. You have preserve your roster going into the summer as much as possible. An early announcement may trigger guys at the same position to jump on the portal before it closes.

Alabama isn’t much better off than LSU is as far as NIL. Bama can’t contend with the Texas, Texas A&Ms, Oregons and Ohio States either. Oh and apparently Michigan as well since they like to spend 12+ million on a player.
