The silver lining to this game is that we won’t have to see Shores tomorrow!

That in itself is encouraging.

I’m ready for Jay to just hang Shores up for the season. The dude obviously isn’t getting any better and he just continues to kill this team every time he steps on the mound.

It would be great if either he or Schmidt could develop any consistency. They have such great potential, but they just can’t hold it together.

As much as I hate to say it we are going to need him and Schmidt to figure it out

We don't have a lot of depth and talent wise they have the best stuff when they are on...

Shores' main issue is that his fastball has zero run on it. It's piped right down the middle or it's just a wasted, non quality miss that doesn't change eye plane or anything.

Not sure who has been more disappointing this year. Schmidt or Shores. I understand Schmidt is a freshman but he was the best pitcher in the country coming out of high school and a Top 15 pick in the draft and he can’t even record an out in SEC play. We thought we would hs r a huge advantage on Sunday with Shotesz and it has been the complete opposite

But Shores could get back to form at some point this season.

There’s a better chance of my old arse pitching the championship game for LSU in Omaha then this happening .

These are adults paid money to win baseball games. The players can suck it up like the rest of us if we perform poorly at our occupations.

This is true, but I can see why Jay has been patiently trying, and why mlb will take him high in the draft. He throws some great pitches, but then he throws uncompetitive ones; and just enough to make him ineffective. Just a little improvement on consistency and we would have had one of the best pitchers in college baseball.

while he has struggled, who hasn't out of our pen, aside from Evans and Cowan? Not fair to just paint the guy who is coming off TJ....when none can keep from walking/hitting batters.

To be fair, they arent amateur, student athletes anymore. They are paid players attending a university

This is a very good point. None of the rest are any better really outside of Cowan and Evans
