This. My dad could bitch all day at the dumb shite I did. But the most memorable time I screwed was him just saying, "I don't have anything to say. I'm too disappointed in you".

In HS we got our arse kicked one game and we watched the film the next day in silence. At the end our coach just said the word "pitiful". The next day we had a long talk about doing our job and trusting the guy next to youu to do his, etc.

Its been 20 years and I still remeber that more than any arse chewing or pump up speech.

Jay Johnson is one of the best coaches in modern Baseball. The days of just screaming at kids and trying to get in their shite does not work with this generation. Someone here said sometimes silence is powerful. Most of us grew up where hurting someones feelings was not a big deal. It is not that way anymore. Coaches l get fired now for going postal on teams, kids walk because of it. Definitely not saying this is correct. Just saying we live in different times and coaches have to navigate the new generation of kids.

Jay Johnson gets a lot of criticism from the fans, myself included. But without a doubt the man is dedicated to the team and the LSU brand. Let him do what he does. Not one of knows what goes on behind closed doors with Jay and the team. I guarantee he has had some closed door sessions with individuals and has challenged them. That is his business not ours.

You are falling right into his trap by responding to this clown. Please ignore this dude even though I know it’s really hard not to respond to morons like him.

He didn't have the world's is actually unbelievable. You don't text your team something after a game like that you give a legitimate emotional speech. I've been a Jay supporter and still am but texting is not the way to get to your team after a performance like that.

ever have someone that you look up to, just look at you with disappointment, and turn away without a word?
its worse than getting cursed...

Nobody has a better pulse on how to get to this team than Jay.

I'm glad he didn't give a big speech. Let them stew.

We need to get our fricking edge back

More likely the analytics say text the team. Not sold on Jays pulse feel just yet.

Even in the old days, guys would screamed at for mental errors and lack of hustle. Guys didn’t get yelled at because they were in a hitting slump. That doesn’t help one get a hit. Makes about as much sense as yelling at a golfer because he hit his drive OB.

I mean imagine Jay lighting the team up this way. Augie must have been related to the great General George Patton.

Augie was probably drunk, and it’s hard to hold your tongue when you’ve had a few too many
