I am staying in New Orleans this Friday night then driving over to Baton Rouge for the game Saturday. How bad is game day traffic going to be? I would like to get to the stadium around 2pm so what time would yall recommend leaving New Orleans?

All depends on the route you take. I HIGHKY advise taking I-10 east through Slidell, then take I-12 west all the way to Baton Rouge. Without a doubt the fastest way. Probably cuts your drive in half and take about 30 minutes total.

You'll still need to leave early though. For a 6pm kickoff, leave around 4 pm so you can get there early enough to enjoy the fun.

You can make it in about 1 hr. IF you leave EARLY in the am.....a departure after 9am will take you 11/2 to 2 hrs. depending on your ultimate parking destination. NO WAY you can get to Tiger Stadium in 1 hour if you leave late morning or early afternoon !

Seriously, leave around noon and you'll be driving on campus no later than 2. I can't tell you how long you'll have to look for a parking spot (depends on where you want to park), but if you're coming from NOLA get off at LA 30 WEST and that will take you all the way to campus bypassing alot of the Baton Rouge traffic. There is free parking on the right hand side just as you pass the baseball stadium (the place that looks like most Pac 10 football stadiums) on the left.

LSU is not like alot of other campuses that have alot of close stores to buy beer. Get all your shopping done today and when you get in the car, do not stop and open the door until you have parked on campus.

I would say 2 hours just to ensure you get there on time. you neve know what I10 is going to look like on a gameday with all of that construction.

I12 west alone is going to take right at an hour just to get to Acadian.

It shoultdn't take that long, but nobody coming from NOLA should be going that way anyway, unless they just want to waste time.

Seriously? Even this: You'll still need to leave early though. For a 6pm kickoff, leave around 4 pm so you can get there early enough to enjoy the fun. wasn't enough to signal I was being sarcastic?

anyone who is telling you 2 hours has never made that drive. Takes me about 50 minutes of drive time. From my door, to my tailgate in 1 hr, 15 minutes every week
