Jefferson put up better stats at LSU, and he’s better in the NFL.

Was it mainly because of star-gazing? That’s what I think it was. Chase had more stars coming out of high school.

It was a 1a and 1b in 2019. Chase had more yards and seemed more able to take over a game physically, but Jefferson was outperforming expectations even when Etling was QB.

More yards, higher YPC, more explosive.

Physically, chase is the more talented WR. Jefferson was more efficient. In college anyway

I think chase had more aesthetically pleasing plays. I think Jefferson has a better feel for the field and running routes, and chase was better once the ball was in the air.

I don’t know that everybody does. They were both awesome.

Because as a true sophomore Chase was WR1 in 2019. Chase didn’t even play his junior year.

Both were finalists for the Biletnikoff. Very rare you see two players from the same team be finalists for that award. It seemed that game to game one would dominate the game more than the other, Chase seemed to make more of the contested catches while Jefferson seemed to get more YAC. Chase got the award but it wasn't like it was that clear cut, Jefferson definitely got his credit.

Chase did beat Jefferson's NFL rookie receiving record FWIW. Their stories in the NFL haven't been finalized yet. I think there's room to appreciate what they're both doing. The Bengals offense is in a funk to start off this year but I think you'll see it flourish as the weeks continue on.

Huh?

In 2017, Jefferson appeared in 2 total games. He had no catches and one rush for 4 yards.

I'm just glad I was able to witness this greatness in 2019

Because he was. Not by a wide margin, but he was.

No. He didn’t.

He’s better right now, but Chase put up better numbers as a rookie.

This was similar to when OBJ and Jarvis were at LSU. OBJ had more flash and returned punts (which garnered him more media attention) and Jarvis rarely, if ever, dropped a pass and ran great routes.

All 4 were great.

There were three games that were scary in 2019. Texas was one. When the game got to the critical point it was JJ who Burrow went to on 3rd and 17. JJ converted, but JJ was open on a crossing, or dig, route. At the end of it all the credit for that play went to Burrow because it truly was a spectacular QB play.

The other two games that were scary were Clemson and Bama, mainly because of who the opponents were and the situations. In both of those games it was JC who Burrow went to for the knockouts. And man did he deliver against the two top corners in college football.

Those two made a lot of great plays in games that were just as tight as those other three. But those three (Texas just because we didn’t know what we had yet) were what made the impression the most. And that’s why Chase was so highly regarded, imo.

There was like a 6 game stretch in which Chase had over 700 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2019. Primarily after Marshall went down.

I’m not even sure why this is a debate, frankly. They were both 1 that season. There was no 1a and 1b in my mind between them.

A lot of posters weren’t sold on Jefferson before 2019

I remember saying he would be at worst a 2nd rounder after 2018 and Lester Earl told me I was nuts

Not trying to take a jab at LE just stating facts

Almost everything you said is incorrect. Why don’t you collect your thoughts and try again?

2 different styles of WR's and neither would have been as effective without the other.

Both are great but Chase was and still is the better talent of the two.

You do realize college and professional football are different things , correct? They didn't just switch teams.
