A likely destination for South Carolina transfer MiLaysia Fulwiley
MiLaysia Fulwiley is one of the best-available players in the transfer portal and one team has a strong lead, according to multiple sources. Fulwiley, a 5-10 sophomore transferring out of South Carolina, averaged 11.7 points per game this season.
While no announcement has come yet, several sources indicated that LSU is the strong front runner and Fulwiley is leaning heavily towards committing to the Tigers.

if they get Fulwiley AND Serah Willams...look out!

Why is Fulwiley leaving SC?

I know I'm crashing yalls board, but it looks like she has a meddling parent similar to the Nico situation. She'd be a huge pickup for LSU.

The word seems to be that Fulwiley didn't want to necessarily leave, but her mom encouraged her to test the waters (ie look for a bigger bag). Apparently Dawn told her to have at it, but said if she entered the portal, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out and that she wasn't welcomed back.

That's the word on the (message board) street.
Staley picked up that player from FSU, so there was concern that Fulwiley would be coming off the bench next year. But Fulwiley is a local player out of Columbia, and probably would have preferred to stay.
Just the era we live in.

Fulwiley was their best offensive talent but her playing time was somewhat limited. I think Dawn was mainly trying to get her to do other things the way she wanted-- ball protection, shot selection, defense, etc.

Maybe her mom saw all the vulgarities that could be read on Staley’s lips and had seen other things….just maybe….

If your report is accurate I Don’t think signing her would be a good idea.

We'll take her and her momma

Why do people think money is the issue before playing time? She's clearly the most dynamic offensive player on that team and is an all-conference talent. They're stacked enough that nobody plays big minutes but she was the second leading scorer while being 9th in minutes, granted she's still first in attempts.

I don't disagree, but all it takes is one money-hungry family member who sees $$$$$.

We don;t give af about ball security at LSU so she will be a perfect fit.

She'd be great here under Kim's tutelage. She can get the the rim without any help and score when the offense gets stagnant instead of launching bad 3 point prayers. Something we have been needing

Supposedly she wasn’t happy playing behind Johnson
and now they bring in the transfer from Florida St

It's not a knock on Fulwiley, at least I'm sure that's not the intention, it's moreso just the way things are nowadays. When people that good leave a program like SC, it's a decent assumption. Same as Smith leaving LSU for Virginia.

That wouldn’t be a pretty picture.

Wasn't she coming off the bench? Why can't it about getting more minutes? Didn't they just bring in the leading scorer in the entire NCAA? Seems like another reason to worry about playing time? I don't know.
I didn't keep up with her this season, but I could see how that might make someone want to leave.
