I am getting quote for my new house and i did receive a quote from them and so far they are low. Anyone have experience with them...good or bad?

I have had USAA for year but believe i or not, their rates are no longer competitive.

I do. They are good and easy to work with. I live in a small town with out a whole lot of local options but their prices are good and very responsive when I need something.

As much as I loathe FB's politics, I am a policyholder. Cheapest by far on homeowners for my area, and FB kicks me a healthy discount on car ins as a multiple policyholder. I get quotes every other year, and I'm still with FB.

But they're horribly old school. They can't seem to comprehend that I don't use my husband's last name, so every damn document issued is incorrect. My agent is super responsive, a pillar of local community, and I can call him on his cell phone. He & the rock bottom price are why they retain my business....overall FB org is definitely not the reason I stay.

Farm Bureau is one of the more fair insurance companies out there. They pay claims and they don’t usually fuss about the value.

I’ve never had any issues. As mentioned above, they do provide a discount if you have both home and auto insurance with them.

We have FB for home & vehicles (2); had them for ~ 20 years.

We have gotten good service over the years but we have not had many claims. I did try and get the roof replaced for about 5 years due to a hailstorm. Most of my neighbors had theirs replaced but not mine.

But after Hurricane Florence blew some shingles off and caused some ceiling water damage the adjuster was very generous and we got a check within a few weeks to replace the roof and paint, etc.

We hit a raccoon and did about $1,000 in damage to the car and they paid it without any questions.

I have used them since 1998 (auto/home). Always great customer service from my rep. Rates are reasonable and have shopped around before, but always find they are pretty close to lowest rate so for the hometown personal service I have always stayed with them.

ETA: In 20+ years have not had to file a claim yet. That may change once my daughter starts driving.

I have used FB for years. Home and auto. They pay claims quick and never had any issues with them not paying a claim or not paying enough.

I have had both claims with my house and cars. Two cars totaled thanks to my damn teenaged kids. They are adults now.

You do have to pay small yearly dues. Not much. Good news is the local office has a notary and we can use them when we need that service.

Oh, and every other year I will get a call from the agent asking about life insurance (whole life I am sure). I kindly tell them I am not interested and we all move on.

He quoted me 24 a year for the annual dues, and stated it goes all back to research and education. I just received another quote from a broker using quotes from progressive. The farm bureau is a little more but they seem to cover more in replacement items for the house. Thoughts?

I had fb on my house.
Premiums were lower, but they didn't offer full replacement ins.
Plus I had water damage on my roof but they wouldn't cover it because there wasn't any shingle missing.

No full replacement, just 25% over stated value on your contract. Erie was the only one who offered full replacement but the person who quoted me for the new house provided a quote that was really high. Funny because I currently have Erie.

I had them years ago, left for better rates. The only negative issues I had with them was they wouldn't let me cancel my policy. They kept trying to bill me for the policy even after I spoke to my old agent, left numerous voicemails, and e-mails. They eventually tried to send me to collections before I was able to figure out who their attorney was and get them to stop billing me and remove the collections.

Was the weirdest thing. Would definitely recommend them, just make sure you document everything if you try to switch

Great reputation in Georgia.
They stopped writing new business home, here. They broker it out through travelers and the like. But their grandfathered home policies are unbeatable.

if you ever have to make a claim, they are one of the easiest and fairest to deal with.

I currently have USAA and they are difficult to deal with.

FB usually has a local adjuster you can get in touch with fairly easily, most insurance companies will be out of state and difficult to communicate with

I have them for home and auto. I used to have Farmers, but the pulled homeowners out of LA a few years back so I switched. Farm Bureau wasn't the cheapest, but not nearly the most expensive either. I liked that the agent was local and a phone call or text away. I've had 3 cars flooded since I've been insured with them, and they paid the claims quickly and without hardly any hassle.

I have my car with them. They were great when I got rear-ended last year.

I had FB for insurance. Had my house, 2 cars, and boat insured. The rates on auto went up $75 in January. I had no previous accident , claims, or even tickets in the past 5+ years. I decided to switch.

Other than jacking up auto rates I’ve never had any issue with FB. If they could have lowered my auto rates I would still be with them.

When I bought my house I got quotes from everyone State Farm, GEICO, Allstate, FB, etc. USAA was about $30-35 cheaper than the next lowest per month for the exact same coverage. USAA is very competitive. You must be in a very low tier.

Not offering full replacement value, particularly on a roof, is why I wouldn't touch them. Same is true for Allstate. They will only offer you a prorated value to replace your roof if damaged. So, in 15 years, if you have a roof claim, expect them to pay very, very little. No dice for me.
