Apparently a Bengals exec said they can go anywhere they want in 2026

Let the juicing begin for a new stadium from cincy. At some point cities need to tell these billionaires to shove it. Especially the ones that have been so cheap basically their entire existence like the Bengals.

Bengals exec Katie Blackburn subtly dropped a bombshell at the league meetings. She mentioned that the team could "go wherever we wanted" after the 2025 season, if the Bengals don't exercise a two-year extension on their Paycor Stadium lease by June 30.

That’s what I said. St Louis? San Antonio? A third LA team? Utah?

A couple blocks down the street on the taxpayers’ dime, most likely.

No, it's ancient. It's almost 25.

She's the daughter of Mike Brown and future owner of the team. That's a bombshell statement

For a bit of background, there is debate currently in the state legislature about funding the new Browns stadium. As it stands now, the state would provide the Browns with $600M in bonds.

Kentucky could become the Bengals home kind of like Giants / Jets and NJ

Notoriously cheap ownership. I could 100% see them packing up a moving if they don’t get what they want
These ownership groups all crying about replacing 20-25 year old stadiums and arena right now, when public spending has never been under more scrutiny, shows how out of touch many of them are

I was going to say has the NFL eliminated San Diego as an option?
There’s really no other American cities I can think of off the top of my head.

The Bengals aren't going anywhere. They'll upgrade the stadium

How do these cities get a worthwhile Return on Investment from NFL teams that only play 9 or 10 home games a year ?
I can understand baseball where you have 80+ home games a year.

I totally get it with NHL, NBA, and MLB teams. After COVID, cities like Indianapolis, St Louis, Milwaukee, and Cleveland are absolutely dead unless there's a home game or a convention. They have to keep the teams downtown or else the entire downtown would die. Hell, even Denver and Phoenix are dead now when there's no game.
With the NFL it's only 10 home games a year and most are on weekends so it doesn't really keep a city afloat.
