At what point would Zion Williamson be considered a bust?

As good as he can be, he rarely plays. #1 overall pick and just can’t stay healthy. I’d like some opinions from nonbias fans that’s why I asked it here and not the Pelicans board. He just seems to be such a waste of talent. Do you consider him a bust? If not, how much more game time would he have to miss for you to consider him a bust?

A better question would be what can he do to not be considered a bust?
He already is a massive bust.

I've been the #1 Zion hater from the beginning so this is music to my ears. With that, I'd still say he's an utter disappointment and one year from being a complete bust.
I only say this because he's young enough to turn it around. Meaning he has the chance to drop some weight, take training seriously, and be a contributing member to a team. And if he stays on the court, he could be great but it will take effort from him.
That said, I don't think he gives a shite about any of it and will take the money and relax and end up being a bust.

I wish I could be an NBA bust
But I mean, within 2 years he went from playing against little skinny 5'8" kids in South Carolina's private school league to playing in the NBA. That is a crazy jump.

N.O. is just a bust. Seems like nobody wants to play there. I'd like to see how he does at a mid-level team somewhere else.

He hasn't proven to be willing to what it takes to play 70 games a season. He's a bust until he does

He's not a bust by a long shot, but what he is is a spoiled, immature arse kid that has been handed a shite load of money at a very young age. Think about it, when you were 21 or 22, however old he is and you get a lottery contract. What would you do??
Lose your damn mind is what you and I would do at that age, and then he's got his selfish family telling him what he can do and that he doesn't have to listen to Pelicans management. Smh Griffin better get on him soon and demand he gets in shape and take this seriously or else! Get rid of his arse and get eeverything you can for him! He is a generational talent that when he plays can make things happen, and is unstoppable offensively. The problem is he's gotten lazy and is overexaggerated his injuries and doesn't wanna play because he's rich as hell now. Fix it before it gets out of hand!
New Orleans also may not be the type of city for him because everything is too easy down there, thus, the "big Easy". He is eating great food there and having a ball with his "Ho's".

What’s the definition of a bust? Traditionally, I’ve always thought a bust, is a player who simply isn’t good. That’s never been the case w Zion. He’s a 2 time all star and is an all nba talent.
I don’t particularly like the guy either, but it’s not like he’s Anthony Bennett, H Thabeet, or Darko M.

He's the Jamarcus Russell of basketball is how I see it.
As far as I'm concerned, he's been a bust as long as all he gets is splinters in his arse from riding a bench most of the season.

can you be a bust if you are always injured? Like Greg Oden is he considered a bust? Honest question.
Zion is approaching bust. The stats are wild.
26 ppg
7 rpg
60% FG
Missed 65% of games

I think he's already a bust. He reminds me of Ben Simmons in so many ways. Tremendously talented, but has no drive to continue improving and is content with just making it to the league and living on his past accomplishments.
Like Simmons, Zion cashed in with major endorsement deals when he first got into the league, but they will soon abandon ship just like what happened to Simmons.
If Zion doesn't wake up and change his ways, I could see him become a journeyman in the NBA and getting passed around from team to team.
It's early, but based on his performance so far, he would definitely rank in my top 5 of worst No. 1 picks in NBA history.

Yeah, he could definitely land in Dwight Howard territory, where he goes from being super hyped because of freakish athleticism to being said journey man making veteran minimum and chasing a ring.
Also, he has been on the court way more than Odem ever was. I'd say he's more in the Penny Hardaway / Tracy McGrady area. All-Star caliber but might have it all cut short by never staying healthy.

I’d like to think I wouldn’t wanna make myself look like a little bitch in front of the entire country so I’d actually put in the effort to stay in shape and not embarrass myself

He's a bust until he can make it through a season. Either the Pels have the most consistently awful training staff in pro sports, or nobody wants to play here and guys just milk injuries

this is more likely.
Would you be proud to rep a pothole filled city, where the S and WB is notoriously unserious, where the arena you play in is getting outdated and falling behind, where fans notoriously don't show up and when they do pay the lowest prices in the league for tickets?

All the good will the Pels built up through December was destroyed when Zion pulled his hammy and fought with the med staff on when to come back. It fricking sucks, Pels were number 1 in the west and a legit title contender.
This is all on Zion. I'm hoping the changes in the med staff will allow him to come back quicker from those things and he finally buys in conditioning wise fully instead of just offseason conditioning. Fwiw he looks to be in good shape this offseason.

I agree with this post.. they better trade him while he still has some value, because his value is dropping by the minute.
