When are they going to cut their losses and just move on from Kelnic?

Meh. We’ve had much worse players in the 9 hole.

Nobody hates him for having fun. You can dislike his tweet while also enjoying his enthusiasm for the game. They’re not mutually exclusive.

What's wrong with the tweet?

He (rightfully) felt wronged and spoke his mind.

Regardless, people have definitely shite on him for wearing chains and being animated i.e. having fun.

Well I’m sure some people have. But I doubt that’s a significant amount of real fans.
If there was nothing wrong with the tweet why did he almost immediately delete it? I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree but it reeks of a spoiled brat. It’s the kind of thing I get on to my kids for doing.

Bawski, I know you've been on the ATL Threads... anytime Acuna slumps, immediately there is a "maybe he should stop picking out chains and work in the cage" comment.

but it reeks of a spoiled brat.

How?

It makes Kelenic look like a spoiled brat by getting preferential treatment.

Dylan Lee pitching scared to broken Willson Contreras to blow a lead is the 2025 season so far in a nutshell.

Garbage.

Nobody had a better take about the situation than
Francour:

quote:

"Let’s get context here first. Anything to do with racism on this, that Brian Snitker has been in baseball 50 years. I saw him weep at Hank Aaron’s funeral, for God’s sake. He was the most influential man in that man’s life. I don’t even want to hear it.

“And you want to go farther with context, Ron Acuña was warned time after time after time. After time. Let’s talk, like, 10 times to run before he ever got yanked. This is the first time Jarred Kelenic has ever done it. Now, real quick, do I think Snit’s answer to it was great? Probably not. Probably not. He probably also didn’t expect after winning two games in a row, this is what he was going to be talking about.

And also, to give you context, Jarred Kelenic was sitting in that man’s office Easter Sunday morning waiting for him for 30 minutes crying and apologizing. So there’s your context on that.

“Number 3, Ronald basically buried a teammate. This wouldn’t have been a national story. Y’all probably wouldn’t even have talked about it Monday — OK,
right? Let’s be honest — if he did not mention it in a tweet and bring it to the forefront. So not only that, you buried a teammate by tweeting about this."

Championing that Francouer take is wild considering it made the situation 10 times worst and was unnecessary

I do find it funny that you're willing to listen to one-sided nuance from Frenchy, but with Acuna everyone is so quick to make sweeping statements.

How bad would this team be if Sean Murphy was playing like he did last season?

Agreed
But I’m old enough to remember when BMac used to post here and everyone took his opinion as gospel because he played in the league. I’d take Frenchy’s word for it as someone who knows what can ruin a clubhouse. Would be interesting to hear other players’ opinions but it’s better that it drops out of the news cycle asap. Maybe Wiley can hit on another fan soon.

The frick kind of false equivalency is this?

By that logic, you have to take Acuna's word as gospel too.

Yeah,a part time announcer made the situation 10x worse than than the face of the franchise calling out not only a teammate but his manager with a nonsensical and unfounded tweet claiming bias a victimhood.

Jesus

I would love to hear from other Braves or even Ron Washington about the situation and who actually got preferential treatment.Im pretty sure I know the answer

Okay,so you're claiming Kelenic got preferential treatment. Why do you think he did and be very specific.

What happened to Arcia’s defense? Being slightly above average defensively was his only saving grace. Can’t hit. Can’t run. Now his defense sucks too.

He was never great defensively.

Just had/has an arm. His range has always been shite.
