Is anyone even close to Shedeur?

I’m not including a guy like Charlie Ward who had very unique leverage with his NBA career or La’El Collins due to the unique situation right before draft day, though he was never a suspect (and once the paternity test came back, it really shut the case).

Usually people mention someone like Brady Quinn in the 2007 draft, and while it was a clear drop, this is nothing like what we’re seeing now.

The NBA has had fewer drops, imo. Does anyone stick out?

Aaron Hernandez probably should’ve went before the 4th and one of the best organizations took him with way more problems than sanders. Laramey tunsil with the gas mask bong hurt and lost a lot of money

I don’t think there’s a comparable one to this as far as day of the draft. And anything close has been because of a concrete event (the Collins thing, Burfict failing a drug test, etc) not just based on chatter and interviews

La'El Collins was nothing more than a hit

Gilbert Arenas is the most notable NBA example. Dude was a lottery pick that refused to do drills and bailed on a workout to go to a party and fell from top 15 to 2nd round.

Bol Bol was also projected pretty highly at some points but went late 2nd

The other ones I remember are pretty small drops in the scheme of things.

The only reason they are remembered is because guys like Warren Sapp and Randy Moss became superstars.

And Aaron Rodgers would count as well, though his was just about position and nothing off the field. I guess he was pretty much the anti-Quinn in terms of his career after draft day.

A couple other QBs I remember thinking you could see them go late first maybe that slid way down were Malik Willis and Matt Barkley. But you could kind of see both coming by the time the draft rolled around

He was still a top 15 pick though. But yeah, they never officially figured out who released that video but it was most likely a financial advisor he fired along with his step dad (who he beat the shite out of after he hit Tunsil’s mom)

Gilbert Arenas and Sanders have alot in common. Both entitled pricks who view themselves higher than most.

Jermaine O'Neal slipped out of the lottery despite being a green room invitee. A lot of people felt sorry for him because he was the last one there, and only 17 at the time.

Actually Rashard Lewis was worse. He was in the green room and wasn't picked until the 2nd round. Also out of hs.

For the NBA, I remember Loren Woods from Arizona being a potential lottery pick and falling to the second round in 2001.

Mitch dropped from maybe being a projected lottery pick to 36… but there’s probably been worse

As an LSU fan, Trev Faulk is a name that comes to mind but I don't think he was ever projected as a 1st or 2nd round guy.

Malachi Dupre is another LSU guy that was once projected as a 1st round pick but fell all the way to 7th.

Matt Barkley

IIRC he was talked about as a future #1 pick as a freshman, but by the time his USC career ended, he wasn't on anyone's radar as a legit prospect

Didn’t Cleveland also take Brady Quinn?

A typical drop is Rodgers dropping from 1-2 to the Packers in the 20s.

Lael Collins went undrafted due to being associated with a murder and then telling people he would rather be a UDFA and pick his destination rather than a late round pick.

Arenas apparently metaphorically showed his arse at the combine to where no one would draft him in the first.

According to his Arizona teammates, he joked about being a pimp if he wasn’t in the league and the league rep who got that answer was livid.

I think it was either Lou Williams or Jeff Teague who said it.

The NBA invited players to speak to rookies and one of the questions was “what would you do if you weren’t a pro basketball player?”

After other players gave normal responses and Arenas said he would be a pimp. After everyone laughed, the moderator told him to give a serious answer and he said “a motherfricking international pimp.”
