If you watched ESPN2 in the 90s you saw her kicking arse and taking names.

Jeanette Lee, a former billiards No. 1 player known as "The Black Widow," was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer, she said on Wednesday.
Lee, 49, helped popularize pool in the 1990s while competing on ESPN's broadcasts of the Women's Professional Billiard Association circuit. She's a World Games gold medalist as well as WPBA, BCA and Asian Hall of Fame inductee.
Lee, a Brooklyn native of Korean heritage, became one of the biggest stars in pool during the 1990s when ESPN gave airtime to women's tournaments.
She started her career in 1989 and turned professional in 1991, earning the Women's Professional Billiard Associations player of the year honor in 1994. In 1998 she was named the WPBA Sportsperson of the Year.
She became the No. 1 ranked player in the world and earned more than 30 national and international titles. Her success continued into the 2000s, but in 2010 she had to step away because of scoliosis.

Very sad to hear that. I’ve played and followed pool my whole life she’s one of the all time greats. She is beautiful to look at and plays with such grace. Not many women beat this form of cancer I’m hoping she’s one of the few.

One of my childhood memories was watching her play pool with my dad on ESPN.

There was another short haired blonde chick that was good. Always looked serious. I had a thing for her.

Jeanette Lee vs. Allison Fisher was an awesome matchup in 90’s pool. Although in the women’s tournaments Karen Corr would show up every once in a while and frick everything up.
I wish ESPN2 would go back to broadcasting random sports like pool instead of being a talk show and ESPN pundit replay channel. Although, with a template rack pros are pretty close to automatic in 9-ball now.

Same here. My dad and I used to play a lot of pool together. When we were done, we'd turn on ESPN2 and watch her take her opponent to school. I was always amazed how talented she was. We were in awe of all the trick shots she and all the other pros could pull off that we couldn't.

I want to see celebrities playing pool if they ever put it on tv again, maybe a pool pro-NFL pro-am

For you young'uns, this wasn't odd at all. Once upon a time, if you happened upon a broadcast with her playing, you stopped and watched.
Yeah, she was hot, but she was damn good, too. Sad news.

First I thought you meant that you remember watching your dad play Jeanette Lee in ESPN2, which would be really cool. Then comments later changed my thought to memories of you and your dad watching Jeanette Lee play pool on ESPN2, which is also cool.
First one would have been a lot cooler though.

I can't believe she's only 49. So she was in her mid 20's during those ESPN2 years? Wow.
